Makes sense. I visited a local reefer's house some months ago and he had a single penductor (not sure what pump) and a big Tunze on his SPS dominant 180, IIRC. His tank is flourishing to say the least.

How do you calculate flow from your return? Is it split between two nozzles?

My return pump moves 3500+GPH at 5' head height. I know there is some loss due to plumbing friction, and I may be overly generous with the guesstimate at 3000gph to be honest.

Tunze=The past
Vortech=The present and future.

I disagree.. I see it more like this

Tunze= Diesel Engine: Has worked for years, and will continue to work for many more, very reliable, not as trendy but proven, Torque monster, & very efficient.

Vortech= Hybrid Engine: Buggy, constant maintenance, unproven, tons of hype, lots of icing.. no cake. May be the future but too unreliable for mass production as is.

:p :lol:

Couldn't agree more. If they can get the bugs and the quality control worked out as well as a model for 1" thick glass/acrylic, I'll try one.

I like this comment about VT's I read on another thread (forget who to give credit to :))

Why would I want to put rusty lawnmowers in my tank? :lmao:

But seriously, if they could make one that puts out 5000+ gph, which is not loud, which does not fall down, and which does not rust, I'd be all over them :)

Terry, why do you even care about flow? Its not that good to have tons of flow in a QT tank ;)

Sang, somehow I ended up with your old 6100's.

I got them and the older controller from Sam. He told me they were yours when I picked them up?

Why am I sitting in traffic wondering when we are all going get some sushi :)

I thought that's what everbody did? I post on RC while in Traffic. Nothing better to do but post, check and respond to emails and text! A bit harder to do when going 80, but it's been done!

You guys are nuts.

We post from desktop computers where the most dangerous thing we might do is spill a hot beverage on ourselves or the keyboard.

Terry, you should cut the slot. It would make life much easier...

And the solid part on your screen facing up to avoid sucking in air :D
