Not sure where the thread was, but I saw someone use a nice wicker basket to hide a top off tank that was above his setup. you could do the same, with the ends open to allow for ventilation. Heck, if you put it lengthwise up top, you'll hardly even notice the ends are open.
You could even build a wood box for it instead, either matching your cabinetry, or using a different color and style to make it stand out. I'm more into an italian country style kitchen as opposed to modern, so if it were me, I'd build a box, make it look aged, styled after and old milk crate used back in the day, or something similar. Just use your imagination. Fake plants can also work wonders, and not detract from the styling of your kitchen.
