Ryan - that sucks! Any recourse on getting compensated for your *lost* equipment? The SM250 won't fit in your skimmer section:

Pump mounted on front side : 18.9" x 14.2"
Pump mounted on left side: 19.7" x 11.8"

the only recourse is to take them to court unfortunately. I'm basically 1500 in the hole and it just seems like more headache than its worth to speak to a lawyer about.


I just spoke with John and got him to give me more exact measurements.


its 11.75" wide, and actually 23" long. there is a filter sock that has a support brace on top that limits the top opening to 15", but once you get past thats its full 23".

So I have 11.75 and you just said 11.8. Lol. Maybe I should actually wait until the sump is in my physical possesion tomorrow

I suppose I could put it in the center section if that 0.05" is actually the deciding factor.

Ryan, measure your sump once you have it. Are the dimensions of your skimmer section inside or outside specs?

If you need "a little extra" room, you can always cuz a bit off the silicone piece that attaches the pump to the skimmer body

What vendors have them for this price? I saw one at BZA on sale for $89. but i never see them for under $100 online and never seen $79 before.

Thinking bout it. Working on a Flame wrasse right now SO going to get that first and my LFS has a BSJ for $99. They have had it for 2 weeks now!

looks like the width is more from stuff sticking out at either extremety rather than a constant size...

i bet if I just rotate the BK like 1 degree off axis then the 0.05" won't even matter.

it took quite a while to get your BK didnt it? are they still in special order or anything?

yeah, the measurements are at the widest points, so if you have room to rotate the skimmer, it should fit. Mine didn't take long to receive. There are also places which stock it.
