2009 ETRC Frag Swap

Gary~ Should I hit the other Alabama clubs on R2R???

Joel~ Thats not too shabby at all... :D We aren't going to come close to touching the FL clubs... And the Atlanta Reef Club is so freaking huge its ridiculous... They say that every meeting is like a frag swap... :rolleyes: Oh, and they have their own forum somewheres...
 
Hey can I get a revised list of the sponsors so far? I was going to do some last minute calling to see if we can get a few others and I don't want to harass anyone that has already said no, or has already donated. Also if they agree to donate some credit or whatever where should I have them send it? Should I just have them send it to me and then hold onto it until the swap, or do I need to have them deliver it to an officers address?
 
Seth~ I'll work on a list of committed sponsors... I think I posted them all though... Don't worry about contacting the ones I haven't posted... No one actually said no, they just didn't respond... A little harassment never hurts our chances in getting more sponsors... Think of it more as persistence... :)



For those of you that were sporting the ETRC Frag Swap Avatars, apparently they were not RC compliant because it had a link to our website in it... URL's are not allowed in Avatars...

Here are the fixed versions should you care to reuse them...

I just looked at my schedule and I will be on Opthomalogy for swap-- June 20. That is an outpatient service, So... I will be at the swap and able to help. What am I signed up to do?????

I thought something like that might happen because we were right on the edge of the rules there. Even so, I think the RC management should make exceptions for links websites for clubs that have a space in their forum. But their goal is not to serve our needs.
 
I need to talk to Olivia about this since odds are good that I'll be getting a ride with her, but I think I could probably help man the Club table for the first part of the swap.
I have LOTS of experience at that sort of thing!
Did have anybody to do that yet?
 
Joel~ I don't see why not... Though you might have to explain to some that they will not do well in a reef tank... ;)


Paul~ Glad you're going to make it!!! I'm sure we could use help selling tickets, or at the sign in table... Oh, and of course with clean up... :)

Okay, so I checked with Olivia tonight, and we will show up at the Swap around 2 p.m.
So I can keep an eye on the Club table and for sale tank from 2 til closing or until my kids drive everyone totally nuts.
Yes, I have to have both of them with me.

How old are your two?
Mine are 6 and 3, and the 6 yo is the one I'm more concerned about keeping occupied, but if he has other kids to hang out with he's good to go. :)
 
I'll be coming down from Charlotte/Pineville area for this. Hoping to pick up some nice frags. I've seen pictures from some of the tanks in this club and they are amazing. Does everyone going to these typically post up what they are bringing? Is this a traditional swap or more of a sale (both of which are cool)?

I might be bringing:
1. Orange rics
2. ORA Hawkins frags
3. Mystery Acro frag
4. Another unknown acro frag

possibly some other stuff, questioning how well things will do on that drive approx. 3.5 hours or so.

Usually we'll have presale threads pop up a week or two before the swap...

I would say its a mixture of both a swap and a sale... Most of the frags you see there will be for sale... But I usually work out trades with the people that I know have what I want...

I have been to numerous frag swaps and know people that have traveled 8 hours or so, and their frags did fine... I would say it mostly depends on how they are transported... If you stabilize temperature and keep everything from stinging each other, you should be fine...
