Awesome job. Did he break the brow tine before you shot him? Super nice. He looks to be about 4 years old. Did you age him?

Thanks guys. I shot at last light with 3 does staring straight at me for the 15 minutes preceding the shot. I was sure they were going to bust me when I drew. 25 yard shot slight quarter away. He darted 50 yards and stopped. I thought "no f-ing way I just missed. He stood right out in a field until dark, then poof, lost him in plain sight.

Gig down, good blood on arrow, NO blood trail. Found good blood out where he was standing but no more. No stink on the arrow or other sign of a gut hit. Backed out then decided to wait the night as it was 30 degrees. I had to work the next am so the land owner went out and found him 50 yards from where we stopped looking. 100 yards total.

Brow was already broken off. A fighter. I'm going to see him today, he's hanging in the farms cooler. Can't wait. Monday night was s looooong night.

Thanks ,I didnt get a pic though just went a head with processing.I got sometime coming up ,planning to get a buck but , will see.

-Block, congrats to your boy on his first duck.Thats awesome good for him.

-Nice work Cully ,your just piling 'em up,Ha! How'd you get 2 tags with a bow?I'd like to follow suit so just wondering how you did it...

Goodluck everyone.

-Steve

It was completely luck too. I was hunting my leased 200 acres. Saw him chasing a doe along a pine edge. Decided to move to the other side of the property and they came in not 5 minutes after I got there. I missed with my first shot. Doe only jumped a couple yards. He wasn't leaving her side. She circled back around slowly with her nose in the air the entire time. He never took his eyes off her and came broadside at 25 yds. I loosed and watched my lumenock disappear. He made it maybe 70 yds before he went down. I have to send that doe a thank you card now

That an 8 or a 9? Wiiiide! He's got great G3s.

I sat ALL DAY. Busted this am by a 4 point because of swirling winds. Changed spots. Busted at sundown by a doe behind the one who was 3 steps away from getting the hammer.

Great Job Chris! Wall hanger?

Well done gentlemen! I can't to get out in the woods again on Saturday. I think I'll be taking Monday off.

I'm using a new gun this year. A Super Redhawk in .44 mag :D

So what do you guys do after you've harvested a deer? Do you take it to a chop shop or process it yourself? And, what do you have done, saugage, jerky, peperroni sticks ,steaks ,roasts ?

Justr curious.....

-Steve

Thanks guys! He's an eight. Honestly I didn't take the time to count when he was still standing. Steve: I'm having a friends dad process him. Special request to add pork fat to the burger to make it a little better. I make my own jerky. Mark: definitely going on the wall.

Going out for the first time Saturday. This is the first year I've missed bow season since I started hunting in 2000. Been from SoCal to Pa and everywhere in between since the end of Sept. and when I was home it rained all freakin weekend....

I should be able to pick up my cape and meat today or tomorrow. I'll measure then. Where can I get him scored locally?
