20H SPS Dream Tank

aural, Thanks :) I got all of my coral from local reefers except for 3 pieces that I got from my LFS.

Tat2d, Thanks.

I am probly going to have to set up a frag tank once everything grows in :D

Here's a picture of the mother colony from which I got the new Green Acro from.

Sure thing. I think I may be done adding frags to the tank. Time to set up a frag tank lol.

Here's an update FTS. It's getting crowned in there, fast lol. I think that I will be adding one more piece of coral then I am calling it quits with my coral buying. Maybe I'll add some fish this month....

Alright Travis, damn you!! The last thing I needed to see was this thread! I don't even know how I stumbled into it. Just read the whole thing! Sweet freakin tank! The sps have been tempting me for some time and now I've just been pushed to the brink. My hunt for sps frags has officially begun. My bank account is most likely in trouble.:lol2: You've done a great job. I look fwd to watching things mature as time goes on. Keep the updated pics coming.

great looking tank Travis! it makes me want to upgrade my PC to a MH :D

how do you like the hang on overflow box? i used to have one awhile back, and every time there was a blck out, it used to flood the sump everytime the power came back on. is there a way (safer) to prevent that?

Sounds like you had too small of a sump or there was too much water in the sump. You see my sump is a standard 10g tank and when the pump is on it only holds about 5 gallons of water. So that way when the pump is off it will be able to hold up to another 5 gallons.

Hope that helped :)

Easy, I didn't start off with much Coraline algae at all and therefore I don't have much to clean. I can honestly say that I have never had to scrape coraline algae in this tank.

looking really really good, Travis. i like all the mixtures of different colors you are using. it is going to look incredible when they start growing out.

Have you concidered putting a monti cap in? a bright orange or green cap would be incredible. they are really cool to watch grow too.

anyways - i give you two thumbs up. I wish i had access to SPS pieces like that. great job.

Thanks aural. I do have a Pink Monti Cap in there and I think it's going to look sweet once it starts to curl up.

Well...I took a few pics today...

Here's the Starcki

Awesome tank.. great growth.

Are you dosing kalk or do you have a calcium reactor? The mag 9.5 is plumbed through the closed loop only I take it, not through the sump?

Looks killer .. keep it up!
