210 AGA RR Project

Give your plumbing time to get coated with "stuff" inside. I too freaked out with all the micro bubbles after 3-4 months. The issue just went away.

Hi mike660r

Yea I'am going to give it some time to settle in, buy switching a few
things around I reduced them quite a lot, time will tell.

I did notice that my PH was on the low side, last 2 days it
was down to 7.7, today opened up the windows at noon(finally cooled
down outside) and buy 7.00pm it rose up to 8.1,
I've read a lot on high co2 in the air butt this has really convinced me
about co2 build up in side of sealed up house!!
I ordered some kalkwasser to dose when house is sealed up to try and offset low PH

I have to comment on some of the toys on this system,
The auto top off works great first time I've ever had one and its
going to make maintaining this tank a lot easier. The Calcium Reactor
has been running for a week and I found it pretty easy to set up,
its set low right now until things get going but it will just be a
little tweaking to get right. Its hooked up to SMS122 PH controller
The Ozone is running now its feed into the skimmer and running
off Milwaukee SMS510 ORP controller.
The Medusa PHC300 controller is working great its set at +or- 0.5 deg.
Heat and cool, I read some negative comments on them on some
posts but it might have been the cheaper series.
And the Tunze streams very cool and awesome flow,I was thinking
about a closed loop in the planning stages but glad I decided on
the streams.

To be continued

Hey Lunchbucket

The skimmer has been pulling a ton of gunk out!I still tweaking out
here and there. I tell ya, I no some posts said the flow meters are
all show but I found they are really helpful at adjusting air intake rate and effluent drip rate, and I would order them again.

Well I finally got my RO/DI TDS down to zero,a couple of weeks
before I filled up the tank put all new filters and new membrane on.
and instead of checking RO output right away I just filled up my
two containers and when I did check them it was very high, well
ended up I did'nt have the membrane seated all the way, after
reinstalling the membrane TDS after double DI was 25 TDS.
next tried heating up water threw a coil in a bucket with heaters.
Nope no change, ARGH next finally bought a booster pump, that
really helped with output and lowered my TDS out of RO to 14 TDS.
In water at last check was 540 TDS. Before pump RO was 23 TDS.
Then it finally dawned on me the first time I filled the containers
it totally trashed out both DI cartridges. Well I just got the refillable
DI cartridges and it was cheaper for those and 2 refills each than
what it almost cost for one cartridge, ARGH should have done that a long time ago, well alls good now.

Well haven't posted in awhile, the rock has been in the tank for
7 weeks now,all parameters are good except nitrate.
Seen 2 different types of snails, quite a few feather dusters, a small
zoanthid was noticed growing on a rock, brown with a green center.
added some cheato to the sump last week,I no theres a bunch of worms but never get to see them only there castings.
Mild case of diatoms and hair algae is starting to move in.
I'am waiting till the 12 week point then I'll add a clean up crew.
I liked what I read about waiting 8 to 12 months to see how the
rock develops you only get 1 shot at it so i decided to try it and see if
I can hold out that long.

Well rock has been in the tank 11 weeks now, made 3 water changes
in last 6 weeks 2 32 gallons and 1 96 gallons, nitrates now at 20ppm
nitrates started at 0 and shot up to 100ppm by the end of the cycle.
Added a clean up crew today form DR.macs also got a seahare,
man is that thing cool. He is really plowing through the algae.
I tried going as long as possible with out adding anything but the
hair algae has really taken off but it won't last long with the sea hair
:D
Hopefully I'll post a little more regularly, just been real busy lately

when u take pictures, if u put ur camera on an angle most of the time they will come out like that, i have found that flat up against the glass works the best.
