We've also decided on a T5 light fixture. Where it's just a FOWLR, we'll be using the 72" Nova Pro.

We have 8 T5 bulbs on the 100g FOWLR!

I really like the colour variation you can do with T5 bulbs. The bulb plans are:

ATI Purple Plus
GE 6500k Daylight
and 4 ATI Blue Plus.

It may be a FOWLR now, but you never know what you like to add in there later. I was looking at LEDs but they are not to where they need to be with that technology for a bigger tank.

We're looking at the genesis water changers and a nice little Apex.

hey Renee, i want to know, how much should I feed my red-fin (i think about 5 months old)? Right now i'm feeding him about every other day, but i'm thinking that's not enough.
PS. I would help too, but i'm a few thousand miles away.

I'm not Renee (she's cuter!), but sometimes we're interchangeable...

If the fish is an adult, every other day is fine. If it's a juvie, you can bump it up a bit. Also, IME, males get quite a bit larger than females, and the females seem to grow a bit more slowly.

haha, okay well, i'll feed him every day. His spines get bigger and bigger every day!

I feed Monday, Wednesday and Friday and take the weekend off. If it's a baby, I don't skip the weekend.

Is is growing well? If you know they aren't full grown, and they aren't growing much, I bump up the feedings for a bit.

he's grown about a half-inch since i got him a month and a half ago. Is that good growth?
