210g Things with Stings tank.

Subscribing! im new to this and its cool to see something so ambitious being accomplished! Looking forward to more! Good luck!

*sigh* Me and my husband....

Eating pizza and contemplating cigars in between the hard labor.

Reef tanks AND cigars? Your husband was smart to seal the deal! Haha.

Really looking forward to this tank, very different than other big tanks - its going to be great.

Thanks!

UPS/Fed ex must be fed up with me by now.

So now it's time to try my hand at mitering molding. I'm actually a little excited about that one. I love using the drop saw. When we were leaving Home Depot with it, some one said "Nice saw!" to my husband. He said "It's my wife's". I was clinging on like a little decal.

But I digress... as I will some more right now....

My little helper.

Unfortunately she's dying :-( I can't move around too much in the day when I'm alone because she follows me back and forth, which is not good for her.

After the molding is done, the staining will begin *gulp* O.O

Built a couple of "risers" so we can put bulkheads and drainage hoses under there. Makes cleaning them out a breeze because you can just rinse and drain, rinse and drain.

Smart, are those both for SW or is one for RODI and the other for SW? I have 2 65g containers that i use, one for holding RODI and the other for mixing SW, and it makes everything easier.

The larger one is for SW. It's a 60g so I just have to basically pour in a bag of salt instead of having to cup measure it.

The smaller one is a 30g and that's for RO/DI. You can see the unit on the floor there and it will be mounted tomorrow.

Lesson #492: If you're going to use an old bowed tank for your sump, expect tears... lots of them.

Lesson #493: The smell of melting plastic and acrylic cement make you woozy after about 1-1/2 hours.

Yikes! Did you have the sump in the house?

As for the pipes are be downwind!!! That stuff is dangerous to inhale.

Trust me I am. You guys have inspired me for a large tank, reef or predator not sure yet. I completely tore out my bath room just to have additional space for all the equipment.

Couldn't stand the smell....

I can't do much else until hubby get the closed loop all set up with the Oceans Motions.... and the hole in the wall.... let's not forget the hole in the wall.

There's one thing in there that is functionally stupid... but it needed to go there. So there's a Plan B. Can you picture the seemingly n00b mistake. As I was doing it I was thinking "I hope I don't regret this too much". Actually, you can see it better in the picture in the post above.

Greg is building a stand of sorts to raise the skimmer up.

I need to finish the tank stand and make my door pulls.

My back and feet are killing me. Spent the whole day insulating the walls.... still doing it in the dark with a work light. No fooling around anymore, the antennata is getting huge and needs to come out of the QT tank! We're also going to paint the roof with white reflective paint and a turbine vent. Later we're going to plant some taller trees for shade.

The chore today.

The water changer is set up (need a couple of extension cords).

Ordered a couple of DJ power supply thingies and some more plumbing (of course).

Stared at this...

Tore some more baseboards off of a perfectly good wall.

Looks like things are finally starting to pick up! Should be exciting to see the tank filled! When are you planning on transferring everything?
