Other updates.. Really trying to remove a few fish hasn't happened yet.. Added a few new SPS pieces (keeping my fingers crossed on that table.. I bought it for 5$, but it was damaged/rtn'n hoping it will pull threw. All my cyano, and diatoms are finally gone. I can't pin point what did it, but a combination of weekly 10% water changes, vodka dosing, bi weekly filter sock replacement, addition of macro to the frag tank, and weekly carbon replacement seems to have done the trick. I'm also starting to get much better coluration out of select corals.

Equipment issues my sedra pump for my G3 broke! The nozzle cracked off some how so no OZONE/Second skimmer running as of yesterday :(

I ordered up some Zeo Products I'm hoping to try supplementing my Vodka dosing with Bacteria, AA's and Coral Vitalizer. I'll keep everybody informed on how this works.

Nice up date!

If it's you venturi that broke on the G3 you can order those from any one who carries the AMS line of skimmers, Like Reef Geek or Custom Aquatics.

Which fish have been your coral pickers? Are they bothering SPS, or LPS/softies only?

Thanks! I thought i Had posted a second photo but it appears to have gone mia..

Sadly the pump burnt up. What happened was the nozzle that connect the pump to the skimmer body snapped off below the compression fitting, and it fountained out my sump until it dropped below the water level of the pump. Luckily I had the pump / skimmer on an egg crate bin in the Rk2 or it would have drained the whole sump..

As far as the fish, It's a Jewel Damsel, and randomly picks on my SPS he has gotten so big that he can take out 1/4" chunks with every bite.

Gorgeous tank!

I noticed you went with a pair of dozing pumps and a two-part solution. I'm doing the same, and I have a few questions:

1. Which dosing pumps did you decide to go with? How did you set them up? Are you using check valves?

2. How did you program your ACJr to do the dosing? Are you adding small amounts all throughout the day or just once? How did you measure and dial in the amount of each reagent?

I went with "drews dosing pumps" It's what they sell @ Bulk Reef Supply (2 part solution) I did have a litermeter but it fell in the sump.. With dosing pumps you don't need check vavles they won't back syphon, but either way you want to keep the hoses out of the water or the alk hose will crust up and clog.

I dose on the hour with the acjr, basically I setup a timer, to OSC 006/054 (so on for 6 minutes then off for 54), as far as adjusting I basically started off small then raised them up until my parameters started to rise, then backed it down until I got a consistent reading (checked alk/calc every other day). Once I got consistent test results I manual set my levels to where I wanted them, and they stay the same. When I notice demand goes up, I just slightly raise the amount of time my pumps are on until it levels out again.
