It really doesn't look like that much, but on the left side alone there is probably about 150lbs and probably another 100+lbs on the right.
I have a 100g refugium that has an additional 100lbs for filtration.

Thank you very much Alphabet.

It's been a while since I've updated the thread so I thought I would show what I've been working on. I had a light rack that was made of wood and was pretty heavy, so me and George built a new one out of 2"X2" box aluminum. I also added 8' sliding tracks to the ceiling that are made for barn doors. The light rack will slide back into the fish room to allow for easy maintenance and makes it easy to get into the tank.
I also added two additional Lumenarc reflectors and 2 more 400w halide's (20K Radiums w/PFO hqi ballast).
Since the Lumenarc reflectors require a ton of space I had to eliminate the actinic vho's, but the mix of 20k Radiums and 14k Hamiltons really make them unnecessary.

Here's an updated picture of the tank. My battery ran dead in the camera so I was only able to take one tank shot. I'll try to take some more this week that are better. The bali slimer is actually getting pretty big and might catch up to the mille one day.

How about a few updated tank shots so we can see the new bulb combo ;)

Jason Hollback is going to come over sometime to take some better photo's of the tank since I strongly lack in that area:(

the pictures don't do the tank justice. That is what is sickening.

It looks like you have made quite a few changes since I last saw your tank. I'm headed over this week to take a look!! :)

Amazing- You have GOT to get some more fish in that thing! :-P

I think their all hiding.
I have:
6 blue chromis
1 mandarin
1 sleeper goby
1 yellow tang
1 hippo tang
1 sailfin tang
1 flame angel
I would like to have some anthias in the tank some day.

Chris, about how much sand do you have over the bottom and what type ?? I take it your Sleeper Goby is still doing good...

I used to have about 1/2" of sand , but I was never able to keep it all in one place with the flow that I have. Most of the sand is in the middle and the back.
The sleeper goby is doing great, but if I decide to take the sand bed out I'll have to pull him out. You really shouldn't have a sand sifting fish unless you have a substrate for him to groom.

So you are thinking about taking the sand bed out due to the flow ?? You just going to go with a BB again then, or have something else in mind ?? When you take out the Sleeper Goby what do you plan on doing with him ??

I probably will go BB here shortly because I plan on adding a couple Tunze 6200's to hit some dead spots, and that is where the sand is collecting. Geo has first dibs on the goby, but if he doesn't want it you can have.

Chris,

That is a FABULOUS looking tank. I'm a big fan of corals and I like how they are highlighted by not having too many fish :)

Have you considered a rubble bottom? I just read the RC thread of the month:
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=634923

I'm seriously considering it for my next tank as it will be high flow also. I would think 1" long pieces of rubble would look pretty cool in your tank, but just a suggestion.

Brian

I haven't thought about it, but it is definitely something to consider. I also just happen to have a couple 5 gallon buckets full of rubble.

Let me know when you're free for a couple hours and I'll come down! It will truely be an honor to photograph your tank. It's been a while since I've seen it.

(Give me a few days notice so I can snag one of the cameras. ;) )
