240g Shark / Reef Build

10 tangs..? Good luck having them all get along, let alone crowding the tank. Remember, these guys need lots of swimming space. If a 70-90g tank is on the small range for a yellow tang, think of what's "small" to something like a naso. Now imagine putting nearly a dozen of those guys in that 240. That's a very tight squeeze (especially when you stuff lots of rock in there, too). THEN imagine putting the shark in, too. Yikes!

I'd cut the tangs down to 4, like others said, especially with the shark. Sharks, being VERY sensitive, might not do too well even though you have a source of NSW.

In other words... Think of the fish!! Not just what YOU want in the tank. I want all sorts of stuff. But I can't put most of it in my 40. You gotta know your limits.

Sounds cool...I have had 15 tangs in a 300 gallon tank with no problems. Make sure to have a lot of flow and water changes.

However... all sharks are very messy not only to water quality but they also act as bulldozers. They can cause avalances and upend or cover corals.

Good luck..post some pics

They are all small right now, we will see as they grow if the equipment can keep up or not, most like will be upgrading to a 350g down the road anyways, but for now this is they official list.

How much for the 240 then?

I want to come over and check out the work you are doing.:D

are you buying a shark or egg?

I am buying a small shark pup. The kind of shark I am getting is the smallest available, maxing out at ~27" with an average of 24"
