240g tank w/fish room build

No I wish I would have water in the tank by end of day :). This weekends going to be insane too with tbrc bod meeting and reg monthly meeting and I have to work sat morning :(

Sounds like you could use help Saturday afternoon then?

The bod meet is sat afternoon and the tbrc meeting is sat night so sat is out. I'm hoping she lets me work on it Sunday, but she has been on baby duty all week and has let me work on it. So we will c what happens Sunday.

Hate posting pics just spend 20 min writing long update and it's gone. Anyways try again another time I guess. Lots done thx to Sonicboom again. He spent 10hrs with me working on it today. Didn't leave till 1am. Can't thank you enough. You are great thx again!!!

Ok will try again with the pics.

Ok drilled holes for plumbing from 1 level to the next.

We had to Chang the plan with the plumbing. The bracing for the stand was in the way for a center 2inch drain between the 4 tanks. so we went with a 1 1/2 drain for 2 tanks instead. It was easier then changing the stand.

One on each vertical colum of tanks.

Chiller installed bottom right of pic.

So the bad. After finishing the entire plumbing on this one it cracked when I pushed in the return pipe. Was the last connection too ;(. So I have decided to make some changes on that row. As mentioned earlier there is not much room to get into the 40b on that shelf so going to go with a same dimensions tank but 12 in tall instead of 16in. I will be tiring to build another tank for the 1 spot left.

Well we expected to have 4 tanks complete but with the crack we ended up with 2 tanks. We were excited so we did a leak test and fired up the pump. We had some minor leaking but we go that mixed. No water on the floor this morning!

Are you going to use the glass form the cracked tank and just have it cut down to 12 in? Would be cool if you could get it done.

Sucks that tank cracked! Awesome progress

Yes it does but honestly it was to tall for the spot.

That's the goal. I am going to try and remove top brace and save if I can. Then the plan is to cut the silicone seal from the top to the new level. Then cut it well it's still all put together. Fingers crossed it will be that easy :)

HAHA, so glad to hear no water this morning!, I would fire up the pump again around 1pm, that should give you 12 hrs on the silicone around the bulkhead. The good thing is now it's just a matter of plumbing in the tanks and opening the valve to bring them online.

Thanks so much for the glass baffle!
