240g tank w/fish room build

It looks so cool and inviting from here...LOL, Glad to help anytime!, don't forget we added salt so it's pretty official... no rain on the way home and Jeep was dry this morning, I am bringing my blower with me next time!...lol

Getting pretty cool outside, thinking you will need some heaters before a chiller...

U might be right.

We got the apex up and running today. Each row of tanks has its own EB8 so I have 24 outlet for the setup. Controlling the lighting and pumps so fair. I need to purchase another pm1 and pm2 and probes still.

Couple more minor leaks fixed today also.

I'm of two minds regarding filter socks - I don't like catching pods and mysis (mysid?), but then i take one out and look at all the junk it caught and want to put another one in.

This tank will have no sps in it once the new display is up and running. I may run a sock a couple times a month to clean up some floating partials. But the point of this system will be to run it "dirty"

This is a cool setup. Thank God for cheap glass tanks huh?
All this before you even have the main tank figured out.:fun5:
What will you do with these corals in the dirty soft coral system? Sell them, give them away when they grow too large?
With that much real estate filled up with corals you will have trouble keeping those tanks "dirty". I can see you five years from now, struggling to keep up with dumping enough food in to just feed all the hungry softies.:lol2:
Maybe you can plumb in an aggressive predator tank where you have to feed some groupers or frog fish? Maybe a tank with like 40 anthia's, fed 6 times a day?
Ohhh! I know. A big phytoplankton reactor....

I'm a little bit confused. The display is planned. Unfortunately I can't set it up till I move the current to tanks in the house as the new tank will be going in that spot. This system won't be run "dirty" till after it is done housing all the current sps corals. After the new display is up and running the sps will be moved to the new display. Then the setup in the garage will be no sps after that. It will hold lots of Zoa, paly, LPS, and 1 40 B will be soft corals.

I don't think I answered ur question but I'm not sure I understand ur questions. It seems they are more like statements to me. Ask again the goal of this thread is to share this and also get suggestions from people just as your self.
