i see that you have SPS corals in the tank too. i will too. any tips to have them coexist peacefully?
i will have them on different ends of the tank. from some of your writing it seems like they will only go up in their travels so isolating with the rockwork is the way to keep them separate. ....
can you give a little synopsis of your feeding regime and methods?
Carl
Hi Carl,
Thanks for your comments. I know this thread is kinda long so I will direct you to these posts regarding keeping the anemones from traveling and stinging other corals, see my posts 72, 74 and 103. Regarding feeding, see my posts 156, 309, 350, 438, 460 and 475. I wish I could update the beginning of the thread with the most often asked questions. Now, don't you folks now ask me how many anemones I have!
Do you have any pictures of the Magnifica when it was dieing?
Yes,

The demise started with cycles of inflating/deflating which it never did before:
Amazing tank!! one question though.. how do you have all the nems tentacles stringy instead of bubbly? I think they look way cooler stringy. do they ever change?
No one really knows why the tentacles change but if you look at some of my earlier pictures the ones that were closer to the light and near the powerheads were more bubbly. As the anemones were all clones of one another and in the same tank and fed the same food at the same interval, I think the light and current might make a difference. Here's a pic of a top most anemone when my rockwork was taller:
It started out bare bottom and after a few years a shallow sandbed was added in the hopes of keeping a carpet anemone.
I just noticed you live close to me (Sunnyvale). I was wondering where you got the GBTAs? I have two RBTAs (the original is only about 4 inches and it recently split off a 1.5" clone). I like how green the tips are on your GBTAs. Your RBTAs are amazing too. I have a 90g tank that is begging for more anemones.
I am guessing that you got these years ago and they just kept splitting, but figured I would see where you got them or if you have recommendations.
Thanks. BTW, that's so cool that you caught the egg laying on video.
I only sell to local fish stores but my original GBTA came from Dolphin Pet Village in Campbell. You can call and get put on their waiting list. The ones in their store are not as bright looking as mine but I think that is because of my lighting and possibly food. It is the same GBTA though. Also, this variety is available every so often from local hobbyist and is often referred to as from Dolphin or from Tyler (of Dolphin). And, yes, I started with just one GBTA.
Easiest anemone?? I am about to set up a 29 GAL aquapod and i am considering setting up an anemone in there to start the tank up. I see what you got in yours and am curious how you feel the ease is with the fish and the anemones CAREWISE?
I would not recommend any anemone in a new aquarium let alone a 29 gallon. Please read the FAQ stickied to the top of this forum:

Thanks again, for all the kind comments. New pictures coming soon to commemorate the clowns upcoming 5th birthday.
UPDATE: The breeding pair are no longer facebook official. They wander around and sleep at various other anemones and frequently have different overnight guests. No eggs for awhile now.
