280g tank build

Sorry for the delay but I have had issues. I had reconstruction surgery on 9/11, but here goes what has been done so far.

The tank is a 280g...72" x 30" x 30" with an end Calfo for a Peninsula install.
The stand is a Custom built out of Double Uni-strut for Commercial pipe installation and can hold 25k. It is also galvanized and sets 42" high.

Looking good.

Man 42" tall stand, you must be the "Golly Jiant" :D

More pix's

I'm 6'4" and don't want to bend down to look at the tank.

More pics to come. I'm working out of town, so I can only work on it on the weekend.

Admin please move this to the Large tank forum.

I will be putting together a special electrical panel that will have GFCI's and switches to cut off the main pumps when need be. All the wiring will be installed in seal tight tubing for waterproofing and overall cleaner look. All the plumbing will be esthetically pleasing to the eye. I will have a frag tank that is fed by gravity and lit by the only MH in the whole set-up. I wasn't going to finish out the sheet rock because it was to be temporary but I want it all to look good. The only piece of equipment I need is a new controller. I have an old lighthouse controller that works fine but just wanted something new, maybe a ACjr or RK2.

I will be doing another aluminum light out the "C" channel that I made the one for the 135g. All the ballasts will be remote in the fish room and the rack will raise up out of the way for full access to the tank. Here's a couple pics of the old one for the 135g...

I will be over driving the T5's because of the 30" depth. In the next pic, you can see the difference in brightness. The center 2 are driven by and Ice cap 430 and the others are run by a WH7.

I am so looking forward to this upcoming 4 day weekend...lots of work to do to have water in it by the 1st of Dec. Here are a few pics of the main electrical panel.

top left will have two switched plugs for main pumps

The other three will be GFCI's

Will have them wired Monday and each side is a dedicated 20amp circuit.

I am running the same size tank on a 36" stand for the same reason. Even at that height it's a pita to reach the bottom. I'm also starting to not like having 3 panes of acrylic to keep clean.
Looks good so far- good luck with it.

Thought I'd add a few more pics of the progress I'm making on this long weekend...

Got the electrical wired in...I have normal covers now but will change them to "continuous-use" water-proof covers soon GFCI outlets. The upper left is switched plugs for the main pumps. The other three are GFCI outlets. Both lines are on 20 amp dedicated circuits.

Yes,
I'm doing it all by myself, just thought it might need to be in the other forum. No matter to me, just don't want to have trouble with the mods.

Somehow in my posting I left out pics of the tank room build, so here they are...
