3 Day Power outage...now what?

So I was away last week and we lost power on Wednesday for about an hour. Apparently it tripped the breakers on the circuit the tank is on and when I got home on saturday there it was...dark, cold and smelling like low tide. I lost one fish, some snails and hermits and a feather duster but thats about it. I did get an explosion of red slime and green hair algae and my corals are hurting but far from dead. I have been doing water changes and skimming like crazy since saturday...what else should I be doing or expecting?

I think the most you can do is water changes and test the water to monitor its progress. as for the algea...maybe get a uv sterilizer from a friend or break down and purchase one your self.

I think your tank has done very well for three days without power. Just keep testing and changing water. The important thing is to get your levels in the right zone.

Thanks to everone for your input and support. things seem to be going as well as can be expected at this point.

Add lots of fresh carbon to absorb anything nasty. Change it out every few days until things level out.
