300 inwall starfire project

Sorry I have been lame with the new posts. The windows have been delayed 3 months and finally came in. But all the wrong size and a ton of other crap that keeps me from completing the tank setup. The RO unit finally came in. The last piece before I can start the plumbing. But it came without a tds meter and it was late by 3 weeks #!%$@%$^ I just want to get it up and running lol.

As you can see from the latest picture the sump had to be placed below the chip board floor as I tested the height and could not get my arms in to work on it if we didn't do it that way. It sits in the floor with a small piece of styro insulation on the bottom.

To the right on the floor is the plumbing for the RO unit and the drain. Above middle is the hose for ventalation. A variable speed bathroom fan will be installed to try and take care of some of the moisture in the wall.

By the way. The last piece before the water is the plumbing. Does anyone have any advice? Diagrams would be great. I have everything I need but am intimidated by the whole thing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I do not want a flood every time the power goes out.

I am not sure what typ of live stock you have in your tank, but these two will get way to big and eat you out of house and home

Hey all.

I don't know if there is anyone left on this thread but I am still plugging away at the dream.

I am truly sorry that I have not been more productive with the posts. To be honest I have been burned by the plumbing aspects of tanks before ( I had a 180 gal that a dude told me I could put an over flow with tubes etc. etc.) and have been VERY reluctant to start it again. Also my contractor has disappeared and has not been very helpful with the finishing aspects of the tank rooms.

Happy news though :)

I have finished reading everything I could find about plumbing a reef tank and finally bit the bullet and finished the job.

I had problems with the placement of the 4 pump octopus skimmer as the original spot call for extra metric tubing (that I could not find as everything is in imperial units) but solved it with making a raised platform over the RO unit to fit the skimmer closer to the sump so I wouldnt have to worry about extra tubing.

The tank is up and running beautifully. Check out the pics!!!! And thanks for bearing with me :)
