336 A.G.E. Peninsula Tank

Eh, Nothing a little paint can't fix. Knowing my luck I would get all of them in and I would be one short so I would have one that didn't match. I already have a few of the large ones that I don't really want to pitch either.

Ok, I got some more pictures from Tom today of the tank being built... More to come.

hey, is it just me or does it seem to be much more green than naka's or invincible's tank? their starphire seemed to have a bluish tint....

you can also compare the white wall above the "tank line" to the wall behind the tank itself, and they're the same color.

It is odd that it's not as blue. That blue looks nice! :)

it is much less tinted than the tank behind it in the 2nd picture... however I wonder why it isnt blue.... sorry brett I know this is like peeing in your cheerios....

here's my guess. Edward's (Invincible569) and Naka have rimless tanks, so they use 3/4" glass. This tank is Eurobraced, and is probably using 1/2" glass. Perhaps the thickness of the glass doesn't allow the blue to show as well.

Maybe different brands of this "starfire" glass, which is just low iron glass. Or I cant tell on this last pic, but maybe the silicone colors are different. Maybe the edges are polished different on others. Camera lighting...There are a few things that it could be I think.

I think its the lighting as far as why it looks a different color. The tank pics of Edwards tank are taken outdoors in sunlight while these were taken indoors without flash. Plus the back pane of glass is the non starfire one. because its not a veiwable side. Don't worry it will be what you hoped it would be. The sump turned out nice!

James, The first thing out of my mouth was the glass looks pretty green, but as Dave said there are a lot of environmental factors to effect the tent of the glass in the picture. I am very interested to see what the tank looks like with the external overflow on it. I noticed they blacked out the back like I wanted and then I am guessing they cut out the black plastic to adhere the external overflow directly to the glass.

If you didn't notice in the picture they screwed up on the sump. They C&Ced the holes to close together and he couldn't get the bulkheads in. They patched the holes and redrilled by hand.

I don't think the pictures really give it a true sense of scale. That sump is huge. Its got to be for that monster skimmer.

James I bet you love that they didn't make the eurobrace out of red acrylic.

Nope- I'm on the list for the first batch for the BM300 when it comes out in a month or two.

The BM300 is on the left, BM250 is in the middle, and BM200 is on the right.
