37 gallon move to a 90 gallon bb problems

i just did a 15 gallon water change, and will hopefully do a another 15 tomorrow.

does amquel plus actaully help my situation. other than water changes am i doing all i can? should i take out my corals and put them else where?

should i put the airation device on the maxijets, to put more oxygen in the water?

i really dont' want to loose anymore corals, it might stop me from spending more money on this hobby.

ok i've done 2 -25 gallon water changes and nothing really seems to be looking better. i also through in some of that bio spiral from instant ocean. not sure if that did anything.

Gavin,

I recommend getting your sick corals into a friend's tank for 2 weeks.

Even if you think they are dead, you may be surprised. It's your best shot and it buys you time to figure out the problem for your other inhabitants. Leaving stuff to die will cause a cascade of increasing cycle in your tank.

Carbon will help.

25% water changes are ok for maintenance when things are stable, but if you need to drop significant contaminant levels, you are better off doing a couple large water changes in series.

Using your example of .25ppm ammonia:

A single 25% water change leaves you .19ppm ammonia.

The next 25% water change leaves you with .14ppm ammonia.

A better approach would be to do a 75% water change to end up with .06ppm.

Follow that with a 50% water change, and you end up with .03ppm.

.03ppm is way better than .14ppm

ok just came back from aquatic gallery,

ammonia was 0 and nitrates were 0 with salifert test kits. so i'm notquite sure whats going on with it.
