3d Jason Fox Jack-o-Lantern experiment

I didn't think about this til it was too late, but back when you were thinking about what to use to put this piece on... a nice round dead gonipora skeleton would have worked well.

Oh man, I got all excited. This is right up my alley...then I saw the part about it still being teeny.

Sad day.

Lol sorry to disappoint here's a crappy cell phone pic to keep you savages at bay. It hasn't grown at all if anything it shrunk until next month

Yea Franky can we get a nice macro shot with a plastic ruler for reference with both MM and Inches please,

i was jus teasin franky, but progression shots are cool anyhow!

I know in fact I was so ashamed of my lousy growth I didn't want to post a pic until something actually changes lol. It's cool though I am optimistic things will turn for the better lol. Nothing good in this hobby happens fast especially in my tank

do these types of corals grow slow? i mean i know the smaller the piece of any coral you start with, the longer it takes to get going, but are these kinds even more so a slow grower? jus curious as ive never kept this kind.

Not really sure this is my first. Maybe some one else can chime in with their experience growing these. Oh and trump all I can say is "You Bastard" lmao

I got a 3/8" piece at ffm last year and it grew to about a 2" circle. I glued it down and never moved it. I cut eleven 1/2" frags for ffm this year and kept a good chunk for myself. Another guy got a bigger piece the same day as me and he moved his a few times and it did not grow as much as mine did.

Franky,

My piece is still on a frag rack...probably 7 inches from the waters surface...under 8 T5's in medium/low flow...started out as a little chip but in like 3 months time its almost full covered a 3/4 inch plug. Its all settled in and with the increased size it will start growing more and more...as expected. Give it time to settle in.
