40 Breeder FTS Thread

Here is a picture of my two day old light bracket. The wifey didn't like the look of this. So I went to home depot yesterday and got an aluminum bar and some stainless steel S hooks and screws. And now the wife is happy :)

As a side note, When I had my 40B and the same HOB fuge I could never get my temp stable with my heater in the fuge. I wound up placing my heater in the tank hidden by the rocks.

So far i have no problem with the heater. My tank is always around 78-80. That little fan from walmart really help out with the temperture.

Damn, I never thought about that. I've been using this hang-on for the last 3 years and so far everything is fine. I change the pump once so far. I know these pump go bad after a year or so. So i always have one extra laying around. But i might change my mind now. When i had the 20gals i didnt have room for the heater to be in the tank, but now that i have more room i will put it in the tank now. Thanks Herozero.

Re: 40 Breeder FTS Thread

Just food for thought. If your heater doesn't turn on often (I'm in soCal and it rarely does) it won't be a problem. But I've kept heaters in skimmer bodies and had skimmer pumps go out. Them again, same thing if your return pump goes out and you have a sump with heaters there. So i guess it all depends on how much you want to worry.

Living in PA the house is 62-65 in the winter. I think it came down to not getting enough flow through the fuge to flow around the heater enough.

It came down to choice between new SWC 120 cone and the ATB Multi use cone.

Gettin the ATB! Should be sweet!
