40 Breeder FTS Thread

Haven't been on here for a while but thought I'd try and start the thread up again. Anyone have any updates on their 40 breeders? I just restarted mine due to problems with algae and aptasia. Ill upload pictures soon but till then let see yours!

looks great bradnamber! have you thought about putting a background on the tank? either black or blue would make colors "pop" a little more, and make it look even better IMO

Good looking tanks everyone, I have a question. Before I restarted my tank, I couldnt keep any corals looking good or growing. What do you all use to supplement your tanks?

Well since my tank is fairly young I just do 10 gallon water changes every week (RO/DI water and Seachem Reef Salt). This pretty much keeps the levels of Calcium, Mag, and Alk in check. I know there are better salts out but I like the look of my colors so why change something that isn't broke.

I do 10 gallon water changes because total water volume is roughly 60 gallons (40br tank and 25 gallon of water in sump). I plan to add a 2-part solution doser from BRS once I can scratch up some funds when some of my corals grow out more. For now just routine water changes and testing to make sure all is within range.

allsps40 is that a crazy shaped sps in the upper center of the tank, slightly to the left? what caused it to grow like that?

Love the tank anthrax. How long have you have the sailfin tang? Ive tried a couple tangs in my tank but none of them lived. Also, i love the rose bubble. I just got one a couple weeks ago, what do you feed yours?

Had the tang for about 2 years now. Rescued it from Petco. It was tiny when I first got it. Super yellow.

Ive had the rose anem. since 10/28. Feed it about 3 times a week (if that) a small pencil eraser size piece of Krill. You don't need to feed them that much to have them thrive. Some people don't even feed theirs and yet they thrive and split like crazy.

agreed, but isnt this how they would reproduce unstressed as well? i am not 100% sure myself
