Restarted my 40b after battling aefw for about 3 months. Frags are recovering well, so I wanted to document the tank and keep track of growth. I am also using the aquaforest system and want to thank Perry for taking the time to answer all my questions and the help he had provided getting started.

Equipment:

3 Jebao RW_4
Reef Angel controller
Icecap Skimmer
Icecap sump

Lighting

400w radium in lumenbright Mini on Luxcore ballast(overkill I know but a 250 don't give me the par on the ends of the tank)

Thanks man... I'm not sold on the salt yet...I actually like Reef sea blue bucket better for some reason.

I've used Red Sea coral pro and hated it. Had the parameters so mixed on each batch of salt I made I didn't trust it. Of course you've got to roll the bucket which I thought was pretty crazy each time I made a batch. Reef crystal was good. If I left it mixing for a while it would have a residue that wasn't good looking but never hurt the tank. Just made me have to clean the mixing bucket. Lol AF reef salt was mixing and mixed in 20mins. Which is going to be awesome. I'll get of work start mixing the water grab a bite to eat than do a water change.

I used instant ocean all the time before I bought the af priobotic salt. It always had way higher alk than I ran my tank at and I usually added muratic acid to lower alk and mixed a couple hours more. I didn't see a benefit of using the priobotic salt and people say the blue bucket mixed about 8 dhk so I went with that and liked it. I just ran out of that and have the regular af reef salt on the way to try.

Nice Sprite!
Looks like you are off to an amazing start, purdy little frags you have there, and nice collection, Princess Peach is beautiful! Way to bounce back, AEFW can be a PITA!
Regards,

Thank you Perry. I have to admit, I wanted to quit so many times in that battle, but being the stubborn guy I am, I refused to let those little you know what beat me. 😁

And thank you for all your help in pm's and messages getting me started with AF. I probably wouldn't have tried it without you !

Not much to update on. Colors continue to improve and I noticed a little cyano yesterday afternoon starting to form. P04 was .015 on Hannah and Nitrate was 5 according to Salifert kit

Thank you Matt.. I'm sure they will grow quicker for you watching them from here than they will for me watching in real life :lolspin:

Took a couple shots underwater with my S7 tonight

No worries,
I get a kick out of seeing people all stoked with their tanks and corals, helping others achieve this helps my learning too, there is always more to gain, I am thankful for the kind words! BTW, I love the video, and S7, is it underwater cam, or did you buy a sealed case? The video was so clear, I love how you could get right up on those corals, cool phone, may be upgrade time, lol... Glad to see such vibrant color too :)

Thanks, I took that video last night when I was bored. I don't think I'll be doing my phone any more lol my battery was almost dead when I did it. I dried it off then went to charge it, it wouldn't charge for about 4 hrs . A little Google search said it won't charge till it completely dries out. I see and underwater camera in my future though :D
