40g Long Naturally sun-lit tank

It can be. There is soft calcareous algae. Still needs calcium, but with other constituents. Think of Halimeda but looks like calcareous.

Oh yes I believe the calcium are at healthy level now, the back of the tank is filled with coralline algae. Finally took the time to clean-up the coralline covering the front of the tank and now i've a clearer FTS of the 40g salad platter :)

The Ochtodes are back! They received the most flow and are attached firmly to the rocks.

I've also gone without skimmer for about 3 months. It occupied too much space in the sump, and i prefer to grow more macros with that space. The ATS is on the right side.

Powering the sump is 18W 660nm LED. It is typically positioned so that the ATS receives 50% of the energy.

Thanks guys :)

The red LED are really good for growing certain algae. Especially the turf algae in the ATS, it also has alot of effect on the Grapes and C.Prolifera. However, not much growth observed for the Ochtodes and the Gracilaria hayi. But it could be due to lack of high-flow.
Gorgeous.

How long have you used red LED in the sump? Any opinions on results since using it?

Alright, here comes the fishes, i'm not very ethical in stocking them though. Was afraid of the tang/seahorse/mandarin polices in the forum so i refrained from posting them :|

Not a fish, but the color of the worm complements the ochtodes really well

Hey, if nobody starves, you're all good! I think it's good sometimes for people to try breaking the rules. It pushes the boundaries of the hobby.

Anyway, thanks for sharing more great pics! Stunning!

Thank guys!
Here are the new photos taken today 14-Mar 2016.

The C.Prolifera in the display tank got wipe out again, something is feeding on them and they are not growing fast enough to sustain. However, the Ochtodes and the hitch-hiker brown algae exploded in size. The changes can be quite dramatic. It is also fast becoming aiptasia heaven due to how much i've been feeding.

Also new is the rose petal algae which i've been incubating in the sump. It was just a little red 'leaf' when i gotten it.

Gorgeous! Great pics too! so much color!

I'm getting aiptasia all over as well. I plan to add a peppermint shrimp to consume them.

Gorgeous! Love the color and texture combos.

What fish do you have now? Room for a butterfly or two?

Can I get some of that ochtodes? :D

Just saying .. If you need to prune a bit
