430gal., L-shaped display

So you all know, Andy and I 'sat' down for an interview to showcase his unique trait of marine breeding.

I will let Andy show you all the link.

Here's a new batch of eggs at about 24 hours post-spawn. Looks like a lot are fertile. :)

100% crop.

And enlarged to 200%.

Vlad--There is just no way to tell. Hundreds? Thousands? They parents spent about 4 hours making the nest.... Unfortunately, the babies come out really small. I don't think anyone's gotten a huge percentage through meta, probably a first food bottleneck.

biowerks--Thanks!

Jonathan--Well, they are starting to take over. I have a local guy waiting to take a breeding population from me, but they hide whenever I come near the tank with a collection bucket. They know.... I have ~10 egg packets from the Collumbellids on the display tank glass right now, too.... Eek.

Horse baby update. Day 3 (the day big die-off started on the last run). By this point last time, I had already lost 1/3 of the fry and another 1/3 would be dead by the end of the day. This time, 1 cull so far.

Some photos from just before the second feeding:

This fry looks like it hasn't started on BBS yet. But compare to day 3 from the first run. FAT belly! :)

This fry looks like it's been taking a mix of both foods:

And this one looks like it's solidly moved on to BBS:

And here are the 48 hour shots. Looks like maybe some eye development starting.

Thanks, Leonardo!

BTW, Vlad, now we can figure out how many baby gobies there are. Count all the eyes and divide by two.... ;)

Just went through all 60 pages (first 40 and these 20) and all I have to say is WOW, awesome setup and documentation

Well, thanks! I need to do another FTS here soon. But I can't completely clean the glass any longer because the collumbellid snails have invaded the display tank and have left egg packets everywhere. So every time one hatches I hurry and clean that patch of glass. All very silly, I assure you. :) The corals that didn't die over this last pH problem all seem to be doing really well. The purple acro is _really_ dark purple with contrasting polyps. Quite pretty when you look closely.

Day 5 on the seahorse babies and still more than 20 left. Uncharted waters, for me at least. I saw one this morning, though, that's really thin. Doesn't look to be eating for whatever reason (brain damage?, didn't make the switch from oyster eggs?). Lots of fat ones still, though.
