Thanks, I certainly hope that it is going to get those 'cros growing and coloured up. Excited about going back to MH. :)

Really trying to put the push on to get this up and running sooner rather than later. Stand primed/sealed with two coats, urethane to go on top. 1 step closer. Baby steps! :lolspin:

Agree, good tip. I get my work done in half the time and spend browsing. :D

This is going to be awesome build. Good progress too. We have tank and stand pics already and we are only on page two...unlike Biggles...Page 14 and still no wet tank.

Lol, you can't rush a good thing, I've been taking my time too ;) I'm hoping that we'll have water by the end of page 4 at the latest.

Another night of work, another update. Got the beam support system for my stand that will hold my lighting in place and screwed, glued and given one coat of stain. Also coated the inside of the stand with urethane.

The white balance isn't bang on (its more yellow in the pictures than it will look when placed in the tank room), but I'm very pleased at how the colour of the stain looks, and how the wood turned out. Still needs another light coat of stain, and some varathane finish on top, but heading in the right direction, and nice to finally start seeing what I had visualized in terms of setup and design.

Another day, another update. Put another coat of stain on my wood for the light pendent, and went to HD to pick up the panelling that will form the basis of my stand skin, and had it cut to size. Was going to prime it but then my son woke up with a fever shortly after having gone to bed. :( That ended tank progress.

On my local board, a member suggested an old pulley would look great with the light fixture on the beam, and after thinking about it, I went ahead and purchased this old fishing boat pulley off ebay, which I'll attach to the light beam and suspend the pendant from with sisal rope:

I cant wait to see more progress on this set up. I love the KISS method because it makes my life easier lol! Weird question but what salt mix will you be using?

Very nice! Do you plan to run a chiller?

Thanks, no I don't think I'll need a chiller. The tank will have lots of exposed air above it given the rimless design with the pendant. The tank is also in my basement, which is the coolest area of the house. So I don't anticipate requiring a chiller.
