Wow ! Great color! Only needs 144W LEDs for 48" tank.
I am running four AI modules on my tank and one halide. In my communications with Chris he asked me if I would take pictures of my tank and allow him to use them on his website. I am not a professional photographer (or a professional reefer for that matter) but I was glad to help.
John, this post is in response to your comment "The AI website has a picture of a horrible reef tank that looks like it was put together by a 4 year old"
John, I am not a four year old and I am offended by your comment. While my tank is not TOTM, I put a lot of effort into it. To hear someone compare my reefing abilities to that of a four year old, especially when this person has never met me or seen my tank in person, is downright offensive. I don't care that you want to rip on AI to promote Ecoxotic. You are one of the few reefers that I have come across that would speak negatively about another reefer's tank. I love this hobby. I love seeing as many reef tanks as possible. While other people's tanks may not have what I like in a reef tank, I would never refer to them as horrible. ..Especially not in a public forum. It is just poor taste. John, I wish I would have seen your post before reefstock so I could have talked to you in person about my horrible tank. Next time you are in Colorado, please pm me and we can get together. Please do not personally attack my tank anymore. Say what you want about AI, but show some respect please.
John,
It's fine that you are hawking a product under the guise of a hobbyist on reefcentral. I appreciated all of the insight that you were able to provide at REEFSTOCK regarding the Ecoxotic lights and I appreciate the information that you provide on that one certain reef blog site about the ecoxotic product:
"œRyan- Don't forget it will also be available in all blue. I like the name you've given it LOL. We will keep you very up to date with this product.
Posted by: John Ciotti"
I am appalled by this. To see someone representing themselves as hobbyist with no mention of a affliction with a manufacturer is not only in poor taste. But in my opinion dishonest. Then couple that with poor taste to say negative comments about other products while in the protraying yourself as unbais hobbyist. Then to comment someone tank in tghe manner you did is just wrong. I have been looking into getting into LED lighting for myself. I can promise that Ecoxotic will never see any of my money. Your comments were offensive in the very least and any company that you represent needs to take long hard look at the image you project.
These are my own opinions as a true hobbyist. It is sad that Ecoxotic's feels the needs to engage in this kinda of behavior.
Quote "I am 100% hobbyist and anything I did for Ecoxotic in Denver was because I truly believe in what the company is doing. I've just recently been hooked up with the guys at Ecoxotic to do photo work for them through the reef blog you mention. What I do with them is no different then what you did for Chris at AI. I don't get any special treatment or benefit directly from posting on any forums. I just want to show people what they can do with energy efficient aquariums.
Again, I apologize for what was said. End Quote
John the moment you started taking money and or products from Ecoxotic's for your pictures and or hawking their products at events. You stopped being a 100% hobbyist and became a member of Ecoxotic's team. You sir are a representive of Ecoxotic's. This thread was created in a way as a attempt to make people believe you had no vested interest in this product. I resent the fact that your using MASC forum to practice business in a unsavory manor. Using negative comments about other products in order to try and make Ecoxotic look better by running down the compitions and those people using it.
You sir are a disgrace! By association Ecoxotics looks equally at fault as you are their voice. As show by your participation at Reefstock.
Offended

We should get this thread back on track for the people who are interested in everything EXCEPT forum drama.
Also I'd like to point out that I said this before Reefstock meaning that your statement is false. So if I made a comment 4 years ago does that mean that Ecoxotic has anything to do with that as well?
In an attempt to get back to the LEDness... yes thats a word, I posted some pics of my lighting in my bonsai thread. John I was wondering if you could chime in for me and LMK what you think?
Thanks in advance
This is straight off of Ecoxotic's web page? Now I believe you were saying??? I have no problems with what your saying other than your a paid employee hawking their product like your a your a hobbyist with no vested interest. I sir have no connection with any company nor do I even use LED lighting though I am looking into it. I also should say. I am rather involved in this hobby but by no means a expert. But I am the president of MASC Colorado's largest reefing club. My intent was strictly to call you out as you attempted to scam people in my opinion. I will refrain from posting any further comments to this thread. As there are True hobbyist reading it. I just want them to know what your doing.
Do the right thing in the future and share your knowledge but don't pretend to be totally unbias
We’ll be attending ReefStock 2010 this weekend in Denver. We should have some new exciting products on display and we appreciate the opportunity to demo and show our product line to local hobbyists. Our own master Aquascaper Jon Ciotti it up against Mr. Scott Fellman in a Reefscape competition from 11am to 3pm on Saturday. Hope to see everyone there!

Who cares, business is business. I work for walgreens, get your drugs frome us! You don't have to really. So he takes pictures for someone. Big deal. It sold me. I've been looking for someone with pictures so I could know how the lights look on the tank. Thank you Jciotti for showing me. People are too sensitive these days. IMO. Can't wait for my lights so I can see in person how they make my tank look.

I'm not a paid employee, I'm a 1099 and a photographer.
