500 Gallon SPS Reef System

Can anyone who has a tank this high and this wide please tell me how I am going to move stuff around? :) I have no access to the front so this is going to be very difficult..

Its not going to be fun! I'm currently setting up a system measuring 74"x48"x32" (188cm x 122cm x 81.3cm). The difference with mine is it is basically in a corner. There is no way to possibly reach back and down into systems this deep and wide. Start practicing your skills with working with tools on extensions, or getting a little wet. The other option would be to make a removable structure so you could lay on top of the tank for maintenance.

I very intrigued with the location choice of the drain hole:hmm5:, how are you planing to prevent the tank from draining completely if your return pump fails?

Thanks for the feedback and compliments everyone! Overflow and bracing is here and have painted the tank. I put a T5 over it just for an example.

A big black box:

Setup Vortechs only to find that they've brought out new ones now :annoyed:

wow, you must have spent a fortune on your tank so far!

your skimmer looks a right beast, about 10 times the size of mine at least.

Keep posting your pictures

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Here is a better picture of the sump. We have also put vinyl on the floor for water purposes. It's all gonna take quite a while to setup..

Tobas do you fell the Lifereef products were delivered has promised our was the time frame longer than Jeff said it would be? Looking forward to watching tank progress from start to almost happy with results.

I'm curious on your tank bottom returns........hopefully you're going to standpipe them higher up so they don't drain your tank if the pumps fail?

nice sump setup!
