My bad Mike... If you would have posted that you were adding a chiller anywhere in the post i don't believe i would have made that statement. And of course the fact that we all are trying to replicate the ocean to the best of our abilities.... the ocean doesn't vary 4 degrees during the day and we do everything possible to keep our tanks temps in line. So Mike, are you going to let us in on this breakthrough? Or do we have to wait for the pictures

Attention all Reefers...

A small setback, I came home from dinner with my wife and went into my room and saw a small water puddle next to the tank.

I quickly scanned the entire top of the tank hoping that maybe it was the aircheck valve on the skimmer and it wasn't.

I moved the tank to the side and noticed more water seeping out , oh no.

So I grabbed a dry towel and cleaned up the tank on the bottom and waited a couple seconds and then found the drip on the very bottom right side, on the seam of the darn tank.

I was so ****ed off, but it could've been worse, it couldv'e drained all out and it was a super small leak.

This makes my luck with acrylic super bad, about 1 year ago I purchased the 6 gallon CPR nano and had the same disaster only this tank flushed out my water immediately as I filled it to the rim.

So I took out the live rock and live sand and cleaned the tank and repacked it to get a replacement from my LFS.

I never do a water test prior to beginning a reef and this happens to me again, I will make sure to do one as I get the new tank.

Hang in there reefers, I haven't begun to fight, at least not yet...

Thanks for the support, I set the other one up tommorrow. I just don't think the odds will be against me on two acrylic tanks with leaks...

I hope it's not the pressure of the live rock I had in there it was 10 lbs...

Now enough about that and onto this awesome tank... So you've owned two of the same acrylic tanks and both have leaked?... that's really odd. You dont hear of acrylic tanks leaking that often. What's your explanation for it?... just quick assembly in production?

Can you believe it, two acrylic tanks that went bad one year apart... They are different companies, last year it was the 6 gallon CPR nano, that cost me an arm and a leg and wasn't even worth it...

When it leaked I just decided to purchase another 12 gallon JBJ glass tank and was really happy....

I ran those tanks for about one year until I got the 72 gallon Oceanic Reef Ready tank and made an awesome tank...

I will bring the thread over hear so you guys and gals can click on it and view for yourself what I created...

I missed my nanos so much, I decided a year later to create this 6 gallon Tru Vu. I had my eye on it for half a year and no one ever did anything with it.

So I took it on myself to bring it alive here on RC.

Anyway for those that never saw my 72 reef here she is from start to finish, many many pictures for you to enjoy...

Let's try this again,

I got a replacement tank; what are the odds this one can leak? Well, I wasn't going to take a chance, I ran a water test first...

After the tank cleared the water test, I carefully added the live sand and live rock back into the tank...

I adjusted the skimmer and fitted the heater right to the side...

To clear out a lot of floating debris I added my HOT magnum filter. The water is getting polished pretty well as it's only 6 gallons being turned over...

I even got a picture of the skimmer in action...

Also, I guess I missed it somewhere, but how do you feel about the airlift? I bet with that luft pump you get some major foam out of a little aitstone. Nice setup! Love the tank!

The coralife luft pump makes the difference for the Berlin Airlift 60. The airpump costs more than the skimmer and you can see the difference it makes...

This skimmer is really shinning and I'm excited about the fact it fits right into the chamber out of view...

I'll be taking a picture of the skimmate as soon as I collect enough...

With the luft pump having a dial to control airflow, this skimmer is performing at high capacity...

As far as cooling, I'm going to try a fan on top of the MH, if that doesn't help, then on we go to the micro chiller...

Micro Chiller, which one? Like I said in my last post, I have a small fan blowing accross the suraface of the water, however, when you look at the tank you know it is there. I am curious to see what you do.
