6 gallon Tru Vu evolution...

Amber,

I don't comment about bed room secrets; they stay locked up for me and the wife.... J/K

This particular xenia never deviated off the rock; they just clustered together in a symbiotic relationship crab...

just wondering Mike, do you still have the same number of fish you started out with in your 72g?

Vince,

Yes all my fish are still alive, the only one I lost was a blue cleaner goby that came from PetCo with ich...

I was worried when I had a major Ich outbreak that I was going to lose all my 6 tangs; with the miracle of UV and Ozone, all of them were saved a horrible death...

So the fish you see in my 72 then are all still alive, all of them; some have battle wounds from the ich so it's a healing process today...

Reefers,

I've asked around about what type of filtration I should put in place of the bio balls...

After a lot of debate, I went with Chemipure at the bottom followed by PolyFilter on top, then Phosguard, then a few bioballs to distribute the flow of water and then small strip of DLS followed by two coatings of 50 micron filter...

I let the tank run one full day and I am really amazed how crystal clear the water has become, here are the photos to share...

NYproDJ,

Yes the light has to be removed to access the filtration... The refugium is being designed by Tru Vu it will be out in Summer...

Lets just say this nano tank is going to be a convertible....

I wish I did... I've been in Sales my whole life and here I am talking about something I really like; reefing...

No wonder I get excited in my post...

Every good reef tank needs a crab... as for coral I would start yellow button polyps  and fish.... ohh the fish.... I think you could get away with a neon goby and a firefish :) ... just be sure to give it a few days between adding of each fish... but I know you knew that.... oh and I thought you might be interested in seeing my tank.... look at the most recent post - a naked hermit!

Thanks Rachel,

I'm going to take an updated pic of my cube, it's been three weeks up and running with no lights...

I'm waiting for the JBJ launch of their micro chiller so I can stock this little guy...

In the meantime I just have the cleaning crew in there...

And she continues to evolve. Today I went and purchased the JBJ ATO, with 2 gallon jug, MaxiJet 600 and 8 ft of tubing. Since I already own a JBJ ATO for my 72 gallon reef this setup was easy...

However, as easy as it was to install when I fired it up I had water back flowing to my reservoir and spilling all over my wifes shoes...

I disconnected everything and ran to clean up my mess, trying not to let her see my disaster; apparently I forgot that back flowing occurs when the pump shuts off if the hose is submerged into the tank...

I had the hose half way down the tank so it wanted to empty half of my 6 gallon tank into a 2 gallon reservoir. End result was overflow rushing into the closet. After I cleaned everything thoroughly it was time to face the music with the wife...

I bargined with my wife for her space in the closet next to my tank; otherwise I couldn't keep the reservoir out of sight and you know I love the clean look...

So after she gave me my precious real estate of her closet space I fired the ATO back on, this time making sure the hose doesn't enter the water so no back flowing can occur, and presto she runs flawless...

Here are the pictures of my setup:
