The drop ceiling and all the can lights started going in last week. Should finish this week, I'll take pictures as soon as its done.

Its been a while since the last update. I've been really busy at work and things have been hectic with the basement build. I've been doing a good deal research and picking things out, along with small projects to get things ready. One of the bigger projects is that I needed to organize the attic space with all the junk that was in the basement. Done (I forgot to take pictures). Its row upon row of those giant plastic tubs stacked 2 and 3 high :)

The next thing was to build something in the garage to hold the massive amount of power tools, hand tools and other garbage I have. Its all stacked on my workbench and table saw and on the floor in the garage.

Here is the stained frame. Cheapo pine, although I will but 1/2" hardwood ply shelves in. Keep in mind that's a 14 foot ceilings. I was climbing it like a ladder while I was pitting it together. No exposed screws, everything is pocket hole (I love that Kreg jig :) The ladder next to it is a 8 footer for reference.

Basement is progressing, if only slowly. Drop ceiling is mostly in, the main cains are mostly in and wired, the low voltage cans are in and mostly wired but no bulbs for the most part. Wiring is mostly done, F primer and first oat of paint are on. Some minor cabinetry has shown up but not installed yet.

Office space. Its hard to picture because 1) I didn't have a wide angle lens on and 2), there is noting really in it so it looks tiny.. its really not.

Mechanical room is a little more organized and a bit cleaner. Shot is in on an angle.. I didn't walk in.

Wiring closet has seen a marked improvement. Yes it looks like someone threw up wires but there has been a ton of progress. That sub panel is mostly the fishroom with a few other odds and ends on it. You can see the 20 amp gfci breaks in there. Those things are large. They are the ones with the white pigtails coming off of them.

The cleanout room is still an unholy mess. Thats my next project.

Fishroom is looking cleaner, and a bit better lit. I ran out of bulbs so not ever fixture has one :)

The tank is still there! It looks so sad empty.

All the "white" areas you see will either be cabinetry (bar area, fish area) or bookshelves being built in, or cherry paneling done by yours truly. The lolly-column will be paneled by me.

Yea I'm itching to start on the tank. With all the dust I figure it'll be a nightmare starting on it now as I'd rather just get it all finished then start on the tank. Hopefully there is only a month left.

That is going to be such a great space to entertain, catch a movie, have an adult beverage and show off your tank to your friends!

... very nice!

The cleanout room is where the the sewer line exits the house, incoming water line is, the incoming gas line, outgoing sprinkler line ect. Basically everything that runs through a pipe enters or exits the house there. The term "cleanout" comes from when you need to open up one of the traps and clean out a clogged line. The traps are located in the cleanout room :)

Well the cherry stock came in over the weekend. Its sitting downstairs absorbing moisture. I'm hoping to start on it weekend after next.

Looking forward to seeing more. Did you get the Cherry through your contractor like you were hoping? I've been debating where to buy mine, but I found out that my neighbor has a good local source so I may give them a shot.

Yes, contractor was able to buy it wholesale from a mill shop. The only hang up was that they did not have any "cheaper" one side grade A 1/2" cherry ply, but much more expensive 2 good side. They had 1/4" which I do not want to use because of the length of the wall and the rippling that might occur. They had 3/4" one side good for a little less than the 1/2" 2 good side, but not as cheap as the single good side of the 1/2... so I went with that. Cost me a couple hundred extra.. I'm using 6 full 8'x4' sheets.
