You are running the copper into thr RODI unit only and using PVC on the outlet side, correct? Just wanted to remind you that one brass fitting or copper line any where near your tank system can cause problems.

By the way great build.

The coper is only going to be run to the sink. I'm going to needle valve valve tap into the copper and run a supply line to the rodi which will be on the opposite wall from the tank.

I thought about having them stub out some coper for me where the rodi is going to go but truthfully I have no idea exactly where it will be at this point so I'll just run my own line externally when the time comes.

Oh I also wanted to tank about the injector and sump pit plumbing (not tank sump) a little.

The sump pit I'm installing a second pump thats pumps in conjunction with the first, and runs off of marine deep cycle batteries. It's an industrial model, not a home depot special. I'll post picts when it goes in.

More importantly I wanted to talk about and ask about the injector pump. The plumber suggested putting a high water and sensor alarm in the injector pit which we will do, do avoid backups if the pit pump goes out and I decide I want to do a water change in my tank.

The thing thats somewhat worrisome though is that hes of the opinion that the saltwater will eventually oxidize the pump causing it to fail. He states that my pump is a good one, but I could replace it with a stainless model, although that will eventually fail too.

I'm not that worried about a failure since I'll just pony up the cash to replace it... its pennies compared to what my tank pumps are going to be, but realistically, have any of you had your injector pump fail because of salt water?

I used my injector pit for saltwater drainage in my last house for just under 10 years before my injector failed. My system was under 200 gal in the early years and 300+ later on. It was just a standard stainless injector pump.
HTH, good luck with the build.

Some more picts of the tank build process. Looks like they have the 4 sides together and the overflows in place.

Actually, the house inst all that big. First and second floors combined are only about 3400 sq. feet of livable space. Basement is another 1650. 3 car extended garage. House is built into a hill at the top where there is a slight grade backwards of a walkout, so the garage is is huge.. one of the reasons I bought the house. Its go 16 foot ceilings and one of the bays (2 cars) is extended, an extra 10 feet long. I have all my wood working stuff (table saw ect) in the third bay.

We just recently took the area that was above the garage which wasn't finished and put a floor down with lighting and made it a massive storage area. Its where all the junk that was stored in the basement went :) Btw, the garage still has 16 ft ceilings.. this space is ABOVE that :)

The house was a builders spec house that we found when it was 90% complete. We had been searching for almost 2 years for a place to buy or build on and this had the location we really wanted and was close enough to our needs so it was a pretty good fit.

For the past 2 years (since move in) we have been constantly working on it making it our place. Completely redid the landscaping and sprinkler system, but in 2 paver patios and a pave walk up to the front door, outdoor grilling area, ect.

The inside is a mess as we get the last of the bulk changes done (basement, we are taking out the ceiling in the family room to put in the lighting we want, mounting a plasma over a limestone fireplace without damaging the stone, mounting a plasma in the master, ect).

Its been a hectic time :)

I know in your area thats not a huge house but to me 3400sq ft is pretty big add is the 1600 for the basement and its huge

Great build BTW cant wait to see it done

Sounds like exciting times too. Our place is 3700 sq. ft. plus the basement (1850) and I sometimes think we'd be more comfortable in a smaller place. Trying to fill it with furniture has been a b!tch. And having two kids has put a few things on hold. But we're very happy with the home otherwise. I wish we had your garage space though. The possibilities would be endless. Sigh. It sounds awesome. We've only got a single car garage and it looks like it's built for a Model T. :D

Hmmm, sprinkler system? No sewage fee... RODI water? ;) I'm kidding. That's a big no-no. :D

Thats cause you live in one of the most expensive places in the US :) Come out to the windy city where things are more reasonable.

I would never guess the windy city or anywhere within say a 25 miles radius to be reasonable. What's a 3000 sq. ft. place go for in a quiet city around Chicago?

Tanya, when did you buy? In today's market, you could probably knock 50K+ off what you paid. But we are talking NYC here. I went to school in Jersey and spent a lot of time clubbing in the city. Boy do I miss it. :(

Like anywhere else it really depends where you live and how much land. for 3k you are looking at anywhere from 400k far out, say Plainfield, to over a million or more the closer you get in. I'd imagine with the market the way it is out here there might be some great distressed deals 15+ miles out.

About 1.2-1.3 mil in the city...in the near suburbs, probably 600k.

i think your tank is going to cost as much as my house and it is almost as big. i am so jealous keep the dream alive for the rest of us.
