I just looked back at how long this thread has been running....over a year.

I also read my initial posts and noticed how much has changed from original plans and how much i have learned along the way. But most of all I realized I have been working on this for over a year and still no clear end in sight......

I think the only "end" this hobby has is when it stops being a "hobby" and becomes your career. You've gotten amazingly far and had pretty nice results in the last year. I hope that I have a tenth of the progress made with my big aquarium projects in the coming year! That's a mountain I'll have to climb one step at a time.

Just think what your tank will look like a year from now!!:eek1:

Lier lier pants on fire, Gary... I have heard about your dreams for OKC - you aren't even CLOSE to the end.... :) ;) :D

I wanted to say that you have done an excellent job. Thanks for sharing your tank with us. It is inspiring.

I got to see the tank this weekend and WOW!!! Very freaking cool.

I gotta take some pics. I didn't get any amazing pics as I was pretty big rushed. But here are some of the better of what I got.

I really should get SCUBA certified. Hmmmm, your tank would almost work, but I could still touch bottom. It's just not deep enough. Gives you something to strive for in the next tank, eh? ;-)

Do you have the sump space to handle the displacement of the amount of water your full body would cause?

I wouldn't displace that much. For the record, it'd need to be at least 40" deep plus the depth your sand bed, if you do one. So I'd say a good 45" ought to do the trick. ;-) But hey, let's not discriminate against all of the Chewbaca's of the club. Just go for a good 6-7 footer and I'll just be able to enjoy it more. Wow. Floor to ceiling tank wall. That'd get you TOTM for sure!

I would think a person Paul's size, dressed in a mermaid suit, and a snorkle would displace over 100 gallons. Now that picture would make some really sweet COMAS Christmas cards hmmmmm.
