No problems. I've had him almost 6 yrs. Seems too slow and blind to catch anything small, but I'm sure he tries in the dark.

I've always wanted to keep a snowflake or some other small moray but I've always been concerned about him picking off my shrimp, snails, and small crabs: AKA my clean up crew.

Do you target feed him and if so what and how often?

Amazing tank by the way! I'm very impressed with the number and health of your fish.

Thanks.
Yes I target feed him every other day. He likes freeze dried krill. The smell drives him crazy. I also give him frozen silversides. He'll pretty much eat anything meaty though.
I dont have much in the way of small crabs. Only the ones that live in my acros. I'm pretty sure he'd try to eat any small hermits or emeralds if I had them. Leaves the cleaner shrimps alone though.

Hmmm. Its probably just hit or miss. I bet there's a little bit of luck invovled too! :D

One last question. Im not sure if you mentioned it but what kind of moray is he?

He's a white-eyed moray. I believe they only get to about 2 feet long. Mine is about full size. Not the prettiest eel as far as colouring goes.
One other possibility would be a dwarf golden moray eel. They're expensive, but they only get about 12 inches long.

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted. I was in Hawaii for 3 weeks. I took some great pics. I post them later as I go through them. In the meantime, I picked up a new fish from a fellow reefer. Thanks Cliff. It's an adult Blochii tang. First one I've ever seen for sale as an adult. Big fish and in great shape too. He took some heat from the Dussumieris tang at first, but now has settled in nicely. Here are some pics of the new fish and also some fts and other livestock.

Your tank looks great, maybe a little overstocked for my liking if you don't mind me saying but lovely fish all the same.

Thanks. Ya even I think it's getting cramped in there. In the near future I will be building a behemoth of a tank. Big Al (my large Annulatus Unicorn) needs some more space to swim. Although I grew him from a 2 inch juvenile, so he atleast doesn't know any different.

nice to see the blochii is doing so well. one day i will have to stop by and see your setup:wave:
Ya he's doing great. About the easiest introduction I've ever done. He was in such great shape and so big, none of the other fish except for the dussumieris even bothered with him. The Dussumieris displayed alot for the 1st day, but on day 2 everything was back to normal.

Anytime you wanna stop by, just let me know.

Cliff,

Well I am glad that you got this fish sold. Good to know that my ID for it was right on (AP thread). Cougarman is the man for identifying tangs.

Cougarman,

I did not think of you when I saw the A. blochii for sale ... did not think you had the space.

Continued good luck with everyone.

Cheers,
Bruce

Man that Blochii looks amazing, I was interested in getting him about a month ago, but wasn't sure how it would go with my 10" Dussermeri.
Well good luck.
