600 Gallon Upgrade Build

I just read your build... Looks great I will be following....

I am very honored to have you follow my thread. I have been a fan of yours from the beginning of your buoys thread. If you have any suggestions feel free. I would like your input.

It its what it is and how it should be.

I will be in Clearwater for scallop season. That is in mid-july early august. Are you going to have a full blown reef I can see?

Updates well where can I start. The tank build was put on hold because;

Dec 9th - Oldest daughter graduated from college (USF go Bulls).

Dec 16th - Flew to Kansas City, Missouri for my son's 9th birthday and then went to St. Joseph and saw David's setup.

Of course Christmas played a role.

January 8th - Currently in Ohio for my daughter's 14th birthday party and then fly to Virginia for my mother's 80th birthday.

On another note, I am having my aluminum light fixture built. And having second thoughts on having a steel stand built also. I am meeting a guy who is going to look at my tank and give me a price on finishing my tank. Then he will take the tank to finish. I will be purchasing other equipment as needed with some deviations. So that's the latest as of now. Sorry for the delay.

It its what it is and how it should be.

Good News and then there is Bad News.

Good News and then there is Bad News.

Bad New. I had an acrylic tank guy come by the house and asses how I was doing on the tank and what more needed to be done to finish. Well, I hazed it pretty good but not bad enough to where I have to do start from the beginning. He told me that there is about $2000 dollars of work to be done.

Good News. With that $2000 I am going with my original plan and build the tank myself. I learned from building my sump and I know what to do and what not to do this go around. So I will be adding pictures to show the progress of the build. I am truly sorry if I let anyone down.

Oh man that sucks but sounds like you have a good back up plan. You didn't let anyone down. I think it will be more fun to watch you build the new tank. I don't trust my diy skills enough to build something like that. So what will become of the tank you were working on? big frag tank??????

New Skimmer

New Skimmer

I picked up the skimmer today and all I have to say is WOW!!!. The dude had it cramped up under the stand of his setup. Well here are the pics and a size comparison. Thanks Mark. I will be testing it on the live rock tank.
