Yes that's how its suppose to be done, if done correctly. No problem. It was cool checking out your setup and you gave me some good ideas as well.

I just picked up about 150 lbs of rock. I just rinsed it off and will be adding it to my live rock bin. 200 more lbs to go.

On a more positive note, the inside of the tank is finished. Its hard to show due to the fact that I want to sand the outside after I get it inside the house. Plus there are some things I need to get done to the room also like dedicated electrical for the tank, flooring, sliding or french doors, and some interior decor.

:headwally::headwally::headwally: I am having my tank fully inspected Friday as I still have some sort of noticeable hazing:angryfire::angryfire::angryfire: The guy will do a section and tell me if it can be saved. If so, then he will be taking the tank with him to his place and work on it at his convenience. He said it might take up to 2 months to finish.:beer::beer: If not then a new tank will be in the works. So an update will be posted this weekend.

What do you mean hazing?

Update!!!!!!!

Update!!!!!!!

The guy have me a deal I can't refuse. We made a deal. He takes the tank home and if he can fix it, he will do it for half. If not then I will build a new one.

So bye bye tank. And the wait begins.

The guy did a test on the tank and said it can be saved. Here is the comparison. His job is on the left and mine is on the right. This job is definitely meant to be for the pros.

It its what it is and how it should be.

The top half is done of the 4 foot side. It looks as if it is almost complete. Makes my work look like a rookie.

Since the tank is gone I had to do something to keep my mind intact so I got this done.

This is the before:

Sump Size Down

Sump Size Down

A few months ago of sized down my sump because it left me no space under the tank for maintenance and if incase I wanted to add. So I went from 72x36x24 (operating at approximately 100 gallons) to 48x36x24 (operating at approximately 67 gallons).

I have water tested the tanks about 10 times only to find a leak after I repaired the previous one. So today I am finally leak free. Well rather the sump is now.

I marked the areas to where what level I need to be at when I do water changes.

I wish I found this thread sooner. If you went to a local bodyshop, they could have directed you in the right direction. I did my 125. started out with 1000g to 2000g then 3000g wet, used 3M perfect-it compound and used a regular buffer used in buffing paint. Comes out perfect. We do it on hazed headlights all the time.

I did plus I researched. I had the right grit paper just not the right tool. But the damage its done now. Thank you for chiming in and for the advice. It's greatly appreciated.

Yes my skim does stink, really.
