Shawn how are you going to plumb the ref and sump. Are you going to drain the refuge into the sump or have an intake in sump and refuge? Also my system is so simmular to yours, a 540g tank build by AO, 2x100g stock tanks, sequance pumps, aquatronica etc. Also what are you doing for lights?

I should have pics of the ref / sump lay out with in the next few wks... But I will have one 150gal (ref) up off the ground a little that will be feed from the display and then it will overflow into a 50gal (frag tank) that will overflow into another 150gal (sump)...

As for my lighting, right now I have 4x 250w - 14k Hamiltonââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s that will be in Lumenarc III reflectors along with 8x T5s (4x 11K Aquablue Plus and 4x Actinic/Blue Plus) all on IceCap ballasts... I am going to try this setup and see how I like it and I may switch to 10k MH bulbs down the road and if I need more light was thinking about switching out two of the middle 250w bulbs with 400w and maybe adding more T5's... The MH and T5 lighting will be mounted on a custom aluminum "L" frame hanging from the ceiling that I am going to make...

Looks like fun!

What are the Maxi Jets for?

Do the Aquatronica floats come with a mounting bracket or a suction cup? Will you be using 1 float or will you be using a second one for redundancy?

Did your BK come with a titanium NW or did it come with one of the new POM NW's? If it came with a POM NW, did you get a couple extras that are different sizes? What is the tubing inside the collection cup? Did you get extra silicone air tubing with the skimmer or something?

Where are the fuge and sump going to be located in relation to the tank?

This is going to be a really fun setup to watch evolve. Lots of high end equipment going into this thing. You are doing it the right way the first time.;)

lol, I was just going to ask that same question. With all the horsepower that the streams will give you, what are the MaxiJet's for? Are you feeding reactors with them?

Also - sorry if you mentioned this earlier, but where did you get the base rock from? Reeferrocks?

Ron

Man i thought I had a lot of toys for my tank... lol great job so far...

LOL, Thank you Bebo77, your project is looking pretty sweet as well... I can't believe you are using your bathtub for the LR, ROFL, I was thinking that having three 150gal poly Rubbermaid tubs throughout my finished basement with LR and corals in them were bad :)

I have a few reactors that are feed by MJââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s so I have extras on hand incase they are to fail...

They come with a mounting bracket, but I am not sure if I will be able to use them, I may have to make something out of acrylic... I have two so that I have redundancy...

From looking at labeled on the RD it is marked with a titanium NW (see pic below)... I didn't receive any extra POM NWs :( I am going to talk to Klaus and see what is up...

The tubing inside the collection cup I am guessing is extra silicone air tubing...

Where are the fuge and sump going to be located in relation to the tank?

If you look at the overflow pics, you can see the 2in drain on the back of the tank... I have a durso with a 90deg elbow on it that I will be attaching when rdy... The 2in drain will go through the wall into the fish room and then 90 at an angle down the wall to the ref and then overflow into the other tubs (frag tank(s) and sump) and then back to the display...

Thank you; I am getting really excited... As for the equ and doing it right the first time, I can send a small thanks to you for all those many e-mails and PM's back in the day when I kept bugging you, as well as a thanks to many local club members and fellow RC members...

LOL, yea I know having MJs and Tunze's on the same project prob seems kinda funny... But yes they are for feeding reactors as you stated...

The base rock is the Collectors edition from Capt Jer at reeferrocks.com... The stuff is awesome looking, the pics are a little bad and I will try to get some better ones soon...

Oh, one more thing... Are you going to be gravity feeding the BK?

Yes, I will be splicing off of the 2in drain and feeding the skimmer from that...

Did the moving company ever call?

I called them today at 8am sharp and they stated that the other move took way longer then expected... Well they could have at least called me back to let me know :( They stated that they had a move that should be finished around 11ish and they would try to get me in after that... Well it's after 3:30pm and I have not heard anything back... I am going to call them at 4... If it's not one thing it's another... I keep picturing that they have run a forklift through the tank or something else :(

I would let them deliver it and when you go to pay give yourself a 20% discount! I do this a lot with companies and they usually have nothing to say about it because they broke policy and know they are in the wrong. If someone says they will be there and their not don't cut them slack. Business is business and they aren't paying you for the time your waiting around on them. Bottom line don't pay for what you don't get.... :)

I will be talking to them about the price... It's not the fact that they are getting held up, but every time I talk to them they give me a crap excuse that they are running a little behind but it will come that day, and then I never hear back from them... If they would just call me back and state that they don't have the time and try again for another day...

Well I just got a call back from the movers and they stated that they don't have enough time to bring the tank today ... I guess they have been trying to fit me in between other scheduled jobs... The guy told me today that they have me on the schedule for 10am Tues the 3rd... LOL this is starting to make me so mad that it's kinda funny at this point...

As for the tank being on the stand, please tune back in Tues :p

Here is a pic that I just tossed together, not very good but should give you the idea... Like I said the 2" drain on the back of the tank will go through the wall and then take a 90 at a angle to the ref (150gal poly tub) that will be sitting a little higher then the sump and frag tank... The ref will overflow into the frag tank (50gal poly tank) which will be sitting perpendicular across the top of the sump (150gal poly tub)... The frag tank will overflow into the sump... The Skimmer will have a feed off of the 2" drain and then drain into the sump...

Ref%20-%20Sump%20layout.JPG

To the left of the ref I am thinking about adding a utility sink and I will have some storage containers for holding RO/DI water...

To the right of the BK400 I will have some shelving that will house some smaller tanks for quarantine, phyto cultures and some other odds and ends...
