Shawn, just ignore Servo. He has a thread just like yours, and it takes forever for him to update it as well. He pretends to be too busy... :D
 
id run 6 250 watt heaters over the 2 500's. reason being is that if one goes out, you still have 5 running. If one of those 500's go out, youll be screwed

For my heating system I am using 4x 500w with two different controllers...

Medusa = 1 heater in the sump and 1 in the display...
Aquatronica = 1 heater in the sump and 1 in the display...

What brand of heaters are you running?
 
did this guy ever fill the tank up or what?
this has to be the biggest let down of a thread ever.
and what a PW. 38 pages of B.S.
i bet the tank broke. or something went wrong
 
How has the last 38 pages been BS ?? May want to shoot someone a PM before you go shooting off at the mouth. I have had some family isses along with my work sched, it's kinda hard to find time to work on a "WANT" when "NEEDS" come first...

I will get this thread updated as soon as I have time to... At this time the tank still holds water...
 
its funny, approx 30 of S-Ps posts, or a quarter of his total posts, were in your thread Shawn. I thi k SP doesnt get the distiction between PW and someone willing to give and share information.

People just dont get the incredible time it takes when working on a large system like yours. Everything takes at least 10 times longer.

pwhitby, Thanks for your post... When I first starting following these large tank threads here on RC I always asked myself why some of these people were taking so long... Well now that I am in the same boat I can see why... I guess if I didn’t have a life and rushed the project I could have had it done by now, but I guess my priorities are a little different...

lol.. 7 months. uhh. it took a helper and myself two days to fully set up a 500 gallon, with lighting systyem, live rock, plumbing, filteration..etc. and that included tearing down a 300 that was in its place, and keeping all the livestock happy and healthy.
sounds like you need some professional help. and im not talking about a psycologist
