hello,

just thought i would start a thread for my 60g gig cube. i have 2 multi-colors and a blue gig. i just picked up a dozen missbars and tossed them in with my onyx. i'm really diggin this tank :)

nice gigs! i've never been brave enough to add one but i love them!
how do all the clowns do together? i've heard mixed reports on keeping them in harems, i think the nicest harem of clowns I've seen was made up of skunk clowns, absolutely stunning!

so far... so good, with the clowns! they all seem to be getting along fairly well. the larger onyx thinks all 3 gigs are hers. lol it's not bad enough to warrant removing her though. she shares and the little ones are dipping in and waddling in the gigs also :) they seem to have kind of spread out. some in each gig, and a couple are even in a torch. lol i'm diggin this tank!

The Tank looks Great! It will be fun to watch the Upcoming dominance Dance to find the Alpha Female and her Mate. BTW where were you Gigs Purchased from? They look excellent? Bruce

hey bruce, i think the onyx will definitely be the alpha female since she is so much larger. i just couldn't bear to part with her, so i thought i would give it a try.

i picked my gigs up from different local shops. it took months to find these. once the word is out, people will pass along when a carpet shows up locally. i'm just patient and wait :) plus i will occasionally drive and hour or 2 to check a lead. lol i'm still looking for a green one. if you hear of any, please let me know....

Really nice color... what color would you say it is in person?

peter, that is my most beautiful gig, imo. here are color accurate pics of it. it is definitely a mulit-color in person :)

it is mostly purple'ish, with some green'ish color in the middle, and a red'ish ring around the outside....

Very nice. Best of luck with the three Gigantea. They should be fine now barring significant mishap to the tank.
I would not be suprise if the other one turn green in a few months.

thanks... i am really diggin it :)

i currently have a reef breeders superlux on it. i'm kind of torn on which route to go with the lighting. i'm not happy with the coverage of the superlux on the cube. i previously had a radion over it, but didn't like the spread and don't like hanging lights. i'm considering adding a second superlux or going with different lights...

Nice gigs! The multicolored ones you have, the tents are really nice and tightly packed. They look really healthy! Good to see.

blackwagon, i picked them up locally. i am constantly looking and some people locally will call with possible tips. i will also drive a couple hours just to check the possibility of a nice gig. ocd works for me :) lol

taylor t, thanks! agreed... the multi's both look very healthy, imo. the blue stays inflated, but not as much as the multi's. the blue color has darkened some, but it is still faded.

p.s. i believe that i failed to mention that the 60g cube is piped into the same sump as my well established 75g reef tank. larger water volume and a lot more stable....

updated...

my system went through a rough couple months with nutrient issues. got a new sump, and problem is solved :)

gigs are looking better then ever. this multi-colored gig positioned itself in front of the powerhead and seems to love it. it has some serious tentacle extension! looks like a shag carpet. lol

only down side are the fish. i've literally lost 6 new fish in the last 6 months to my gig cube. expensive meals, but still worth it, imo. gigs have to eat too :)

pic of my gigs, and a couple tank inhabitants.

Which fish did the nem eat? Im about to purchase amy first carpet anemone (haddoni) and my wife said she is going to be furious if it eats her fish. So just trying to get an idea of what to expect.
