$7.00 Surge Device

It is a major brand of lawn sprinklers Cant remember the name but you cant miss it, it comes in yellow too.

It is mounted dead center and I have it zip tied to the center brace.

nanorfj, experienced I like that better

Raz, I just found this pic , I'm still looking for the vid I have
rotater.jpg

from the video, i see its not quite what i was thinking. though the sprinkler device apears to be exactly what i need. if and when i finish this i will provide a link on this thread to another thread about my diy sea swirl.

i want something that will turn the output of the pipe 90 degrees. yours goes 360 degrees.

here is something else that im making to turn a maxi-mod, i will make another but with modifications to work like a sea swirl. please note that this device in the picture is not complete yet. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g291/armagedon48/chad031.jpg

click on my read house and fourth picture down i have a picture of my tank, on the left side you can see what the device in the pictures is going to do and the maximod. (the one in the picture works fine but jams and doesnt look as good so im remaking it)

Chad, thats a cool Idea and I'm sure it is a fun project but for your energy I don't think you'll get the performance from it you are looking for.

Now the MJ wave box looks very promising if we can get over the startup direction problems.

hi all---this diy device seems very interesting, but, i cant find any links, addresses to show how and what was used to make the ' seaswirl'---any help?

This is it you'll have to look at the pics I just posted and read the hole thread. The links have been down for years. If you have specific questions ask here.

It's fairly common forum etiquette to NOT revive old, outdated posts. See, I never even noticed the original date... this is a prime example of why this isn't a good practice.

make it a practice to check dates. there is all kinds of very good information that is burried in the forums. if it was common forum etiquette, then why dont the forums automaticaly delete threads 2 years old? sorry to snap at you, but this DIY is something that i have not seen in the last year on the forums and it is a really good DIY.

im going to run and get a sprinkler tomorrow to use. i hope to have something by next weekend.

Any idea that works and saves money is still valid even after a few years, The info is still good, if it didn't last this long it would be one thing but its still spinning and worth the effort even if you had to dig up an old post.

It is good practice to read the information and the entire thread, not just look for the out dated links, especially when it has been posted that they haven't worked for years on several occasions, and the thread is only 3 pages long.

I welcome the requests for more details if I have left something out.

What dremmel attachment did you use? The one I have appears to just melt the plastic, and is not very effective at fine cutting

i'm not sure how to find your diy page..........hmm, i've clicked on the profile button, www button, etc, and just can't seem to find it.

any help???

Please read the whole thread before you tell me the links don't work

How many times am I going to have to say that my web site has been shut down over 4 years ago, or do I have to ask the mods to shut this thread down.

Sorry folks that site has been down for years.

The directions for this DIY are only here if you have questions post them.

Ill be glad to answer them

maybe you might need to start a new thread, and link to this thread. i seems people are reading the first page ONLY, then asking questions.

this is great information, i however dont want to see it cluttered up with "where is the link!?!?".

i couldnt find any sprinklers at my home depot (or i just suck at finding them). ill keep looking around.

Armegedon - You may have to wait until Springtime to find sprinklers at HD. They don't usually sell very many of them in February in MN, I don't believe. Or you can get them on-line :)
