Im building a large cube with 22mm thick low iron glass. Will be viewed from all sides with center overflow. Will have a dry box around overflow box to house Vortech Mp 60's and 40's. Looking for feedback.

very good project...best of luck....
it won't be 'cube' unless the height is 72" though.....still i guess by aquarist's language it is one.....

I love big cubes and I'm excited to see what you have in store. I do feel that center overflows limit the aquascaping possibilities though. If it was possible to back up one side to a wall you would have a lot more options.

However, it is your tank and maybe you'll surprise us in the end. Good luck! I'll be following for sure.

Thanks.... Looking for feedback from other cube owners on things they did or wish the had done on their builds. Also anything others might want to add. I will be posting pics of the build.

I did think about that. However I would like to have it viewed from all sides. Can not be done any other way. I dont want the Vortechs on viewing panes.

Why not use TUNZE 6255 instead, it will be more quiet and you don't need a dry box plus you can hide all the wires in the overflow ?

Yes that is a good idea that was thought of. I may consider that.

Hey man whats going on? What about your old tank havent heard from ya on that one. Did you move and now going to do this Cube? I have a 36x36x21 with stand and canopy that i am going to be starting up here pretty soon. that is a awesome one lots of swimming room for sure. just like Jaysons old 500 gal tank he used to have in his garage if you can remember that.
Is Jayson going to be building this at your place?
What is your lighting going to be?
What about the skimmer ?
I would go with the tunze for the center over flow and that way as stated before you have the wires all taken out of the picture. So is this tank going to be in the basement i take it in the main Rec room. Euro braced too I take it .

You could build a dry box inside of the center overflow to put the MP60s on the overflow box for a truly clean look

Thats what i have planned. I would like to have multiple Mp 40's on all sides of the dry box around overflow. Should be great for flow!

I can't imagine the amazing aquascaping possibilities -islands after islandssss. I've never seen a 800 gallon cube and curious to see how the tank will be build.. is it going to have a canopy or open top? TOTM from dec 08 really has a great 4 sided (almost cube) reef; the hidden equipment and pumps really impressed me. Look forward to visiting this thread - best of luck.

There's always a sumpless option. With today's accurate ways of top off and dosing, having nothing in the middle at all makes a circularly-viewed cube a one-of-a-kind.
