That's a lot better then silicone but still nto a strong bond IMO. If you don't have it filled up I would get some weldon 3 or 4 and go over the connections one more time...

BK

Its been water tested( shown early on in this thread) and it holds just fine.. besides, I already did just that. Thanks for looking out for me though!!:smokin:

and they seemed really easy to install..

Then of course the power...
they give you several options of custom manufacter plugs, however I opted with raw cord/DIY ends..

100_2348.jpg

They give you 15' in a bundle..

With the raw end of 12-3 cord.
100_2351.jpg

easy enough to attach a plug to..
100_2355.jpg

100_2358.jpg

slide on the cover..
100_2359.jpg

Splice out and apart your wires..

100_2361.jpg

100_2362.jpg

and of course do this for both units..

100_2365.jpg

and let there be light..

and oh yeah..remember, as your baking under that hot sun that you installed ...to sit back and relax with a cold one.

Hey wanted to say thanks for the reactor idea... It frees up so much space with them mounted on the wall inside the stand:

Looks really nice. Should be even better when everything is in place and wires are tidied up.

-The VHOs are half hidden by the LA's. Are you going to mount them differently?

-A coralife skimmer...?

yeah..Im in a tight space with the VHOs....Im cant really move them anywhere due to space layout...it kinda sucks, I didnt even think about it till I installed them with the reflectors...but they still push enough light for what I need......and the corallife, its the only one I have now( it was from my first tank) a begginers skimm, but it will do untill I can upgrade. (which is hopefully sooner than later.

I did some more work on it this weekend and Ill try to post some pics later..Its finally fulll of H2O.

If I may, I would revisit your phosban reactor setup. Having the ball valve inbetween the two pumps creates a "pressurized" environment inside the 1st reactor (albeit not much of one but still). Your best bet is to place the ball valve on the input of the first reactor and then plug reactor #2 directly into the output of reactor #1. If you remove the hose barb to hose barb adapter from reactor # 2 you can plug the hose barb fitting from the output of reactor # 1 directly into the input sock of reactor # 2, thereby also saving some space.

Make sure to have your GFO in reactor #1 and your carbon in reactor #2. While carbon can handle a larger flow than GFO it isn't as efficient at that speed. Sometimes people post "Carbon can handle up to 400 GPH" yes it can without breaking up but how well do you think it filters water flying by that fast? The slower the better. I'd daisy chain the two reactors and base the total flow by what works best for the GFO.

:)

Great setup by the way!!! Can't wait to see it progress.

Hey jade76

Man nice work, You sure cover all details. cant wait to see it when its all complete.

Where is everybody getting those power/strips?

Im about to upgrade but having problem 120 or 150 from a 75, go figure.
