900 Gallon Reef Project

Updates incoming.

Here are the shots of the digging we had to do by the egress window to accommodate the glass move. And some lovely shots of us carrying glass in.

Very cool!

It always amazes me that they hold these big glass tank together with masking tape while the silicone cures. And that's about it!

You will want to open the hole in the bottom up more. I didn't and when i went to tighten the bulkhead I had to chip out the wood carefully. Very Nice........

It's a bit more than that, they have those glass suction cups holding the inside plus the little wooden clamps on the front as well as some 2x4s on the ends to hold it all in place.
It's been a great process so far though, a bit nerve wracking. We are putting on the center braces, overflows and the long runners along the top later today.
Then in another week they come back to complete the glass build and start the plumbing/refugium/Quarantine Tank as well as putting up the keystone tile on the back panel, overflows and right side of the tank.
Ill keep posting photos as they come in.

Awsome build, it's inspirational. I hope that my 500 gallon comes out this nice! I decided to go glass after reading this and sold my acrylic to the plastics place in town.

Congrats in getting the glass in place. Great build. I'll be definitely checking this one for updates :)

Wow great build. I didnt think that glass would get down the steps the way they were. I have never seen a pitch like that on a basement.

How come your drains don't go to a sewerline? And why would the gutters run to the sump?

I am jealous, in florida there is only flat slabs, no basements.

Drains going to the sewer line is a code violation where I live. In the town I live in all water that hits your property must drain there. I have the gutters drain down to the sump pump which then carries water away to the seepage pits buried out in my backyard. Also the reason the basement pitch is like that is because of the depth of the basement. The ceilings in the basement are over 11 feet.

Here are some more photo updates of the build process. Glass is almost completely done, overflows are built and the plumbing process has begun. Also the photos are rather large...
