I am going to use like 6 or 7 3 foot LED fixtures. I think we are getting the new model of a currently available fixture. They come in this week so I should get some pics of them soon.

Do yourself a favor and totally eradicate the FWs with FWE. Any "natural" method will not completely eradicate them, and it would be an ongoing PITA IMO. (enough acronyms for ya :lol

I am draining the fuge, everything is going into fresh water for 10 minutes and then I am going to dry and Vac out the tank.

this will not be any help to you but i found it interesting. when i set up my tank i let it run about 6 months with no fish or corals. i had a huge population of flatworms on the sand bed. such that they almost covered the sand at times.
then one day i realized they were all gone and i have no idea why. the have never returned.
my friend Mark has had the opposite experience. he is constantly having to siphon them out. he has tried many different wrasses and none have eaten the flatworms. and yet something in my tank did but it was not a fish

Well I drained the fuge into the sump, filled it with fresh water from the tap and let it sit for an hour. I scrubbed it clean and filled it from the sump again. I think that should take care of them.
I only saw about 20 in the 90 gallon fuge. I sat in front of the display tank for about 2 hours, no flatworms, I guess the DT is probably clean. The chaeto I put in the fuge must have been the culprit.

6 liters of Vertex Bio-pellets going into a reactor today. Ill post some pics up of the solid vodka dosing experiment.

Not an issue for me, as I have plenty of time to tweak the reactor before I get any livestock in. The issue seems to be the flow rates through the reactor, the amount of media being utilized and not putting the output of the reactor through the skimmer.
I plan on adding 6 of 8 liters today, putting on a flow rate allowing only a slight tumble to the media and running the output through the skimmer. This should hopefully prevent a catastrophic bloom, not that it would impact much in the tank.

Day 1 of the Vertex Bio Pellets, water looks a lot clearer. No signs of the dreaded bacterial bloom.

I just finished reading the thread, really really enjoy the tile for a background such a fantastic idea. Certainly would love to try that technique on my next setup!
Very impressive setup that was clearly planned out very thoroughly.
One quick question the new aquarium is in New Jersey and the current setup is in Florida? What is your plan on transporting the specimens and out of curiousity how long of a drive is that?

I have someone that is driving the whole setup, liverock, animals and equipment up in a truck. They are going to use ice bags and Styrofoam coolers to keep the temps in line and some air pumps to keep the water moving. That truck should be leaving Florida on the 24th of this month. The drive takes about 22 hours.
