9010 motor stopped spinning

Hi,
I bought a 9010 skimmer a couple months ago. Yesterday I went to clean my collection cup and found my skimmer wasn't working. I pulled it out of the sump and disassembled everything. Nothing seemed broken or jammed so I plugged the motor back in. I can feel a hum but the propeller isn't spinning. Any idea what might of happened or more importantly, how to fix it?

Most likely the brakes are loose or missing in the drive unit, these connect the shaft to the magnet and without them the magnet spins without engaging the shaft.

Is there any way for me to confirm that? I can take pictures and post them if you'd like. Also, would this be coveted under their 24 month warranty?

Yes, it would be under warranty, but you would just need to remove the drive unit and check if the brakes, part 3000.660 are missing, there should be 2. If they are damaged, if you hold the shaft in one hand and turn the magnet with the other you will see they don't spin as a unit or the brakes pop out easily. Check first to see if this is indeed the culprit.
