93 Cube- lighting question & opinion

HOG Owners Group
Three days ago I bought the new release Tao Tronics 212w LED fixture & dimmer for my 54 corner tank.
Today a 93 Cube showed up for sale and I couldn't resist. I don't mind having a few areas off to the side for softies and shrooms but...

My concern is the LED 212w won't be enough light for LPS & SPS.
Can I please get some opinions on if I'm going to need additional lighting, maybe some T5's in the back?
The tank is 30 x 30 x 25 deep.
Thanks

Not familar with that led light but 212w should be plenty led light. Then again i will have to google that light to see.

This is the short version of the light.
TaoTronics New Design LED Aquarium Coral Reef Tank White Blue 2:1 LED Grow Light 212W : TaoTronics

Newest cooling system, revolutionary heat dissipation design, greatly alleviate the internal thermal cycle, 10-15 Celsius lower than its precursor in performance
Wide beam angle: 60 degree, LED's light is downwards directly and wide beam angle help confirm uniform coverage, you don't need to buy additional bulky reflector like MH
Aluminum drawbench face shield design, compared with traditional glass shield, better heat dissipation; shockproof and fall resistance
Intelligent monitor system, ensure the whole equipment in a good working state and automatically alarming for breakdown
Strict quality assurance system, 3-year warranty

TaoTronics™- Technology Enhances Life

Features:
-- 2 power cord system: 1 Cord controls the White LEDs and 1 Cord controls the blue LEDs
-- Use high efficient 3w LED as the light source, could penetrate deep into the tank bottom, Based on 72 x 3W high power LEDs. Blue 48*3w LED; White: 24*3w LED
-- Brand new technology in fans will be more long-lived, decreasing 50% noise than its precursor
-- 85 to 264V AC power input, 50/60HZ working frequency, suitable for global residential energy environment
-- Built with 60? Second optical lenses, the illumination is 15 times than the universal version in the market -- White light: shiny white makes the water much limpid and the color of the seaweed much more vivid and promotes the photosynthesis for the aquatic, especially for the green seaweed. This white light is suitable for aquatic that lives underneath the water (approx. 50-60cm) and has a very promising effect on both seaweed and fish growth; Due to its very strong penetration, this light will contribute to making a fantastic visual scene on the aquatic.Blue Light: the water becomes pure navy blue after shined by this light .This light is especially for coral, pike, shrimp, etc. it boosts the absorption of the calcium and further synthesizes Vitamin D3 for Coral, making it grow fast and enabling a very fresh and colorful appearance

i have a 93g cube and all I have on it is one Radion. It does great, and I only have it set at 65% at the brightest during the day. So as long as the spread hits the corners I would think it is just fine. I have had great growth with just this one light. Good luck getting this great tank set up and keep us posted.

You are going to find that your light has a very narrow spectrum and is missing in the 420 nm and 650nm range. Also with 60 degree lends and that much light you burn some corals at the top if the tank.

Ohhh, not what I wanted to hear.
Im looking for a dimmer, Rapid don't think they have one that would work, ??

I guess I'll hang it real high and slowly move down. Any other suggestion?

You have a much nicer light, I may regret this one!

I always seem to get things soo cheap, or even free (my husband thinks), lol

A 212 watt fixture fitted with 3w LED's is more than enough for you tank dimensions. The spectrum of the LED's though, with the ratio being 2:1 (white:blue), is not ideal. Will the light penetrate to the bottom? I doubt that it would not. I can see any sps you may get growing well however their color will be probably be brown.

I'm gathering that I should mod the white in the fixture. I have the DYI from the company that tells how to do it but I have know idea what colors or pattern I should go with.

Do you have a recommendation?
Thanks a bunch!

2 blues to 1 white. Red would be nice too...

I've read on people using red and having problems with them burning out quickly. I'm gathering that with red you need to add a resister to reduce the current. The red is something like 2.3 - 2.4w and the white is around 3w which over powers the red and burns it out.

Since I'm not very knowledgable or experienced in this I thought perhaps removing white and replacing with some Violet Blue, magenta, and deep blue of some pattern that would all have the same watt.
I've seen a few tanks with these colors on the web that look awesome. I wish I new the ratio but Have no idea. It's some what of a personal preference to a point But I really don't know where to start other than getting them equally?
Any one have any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks
