That's some serious light system you have. I like it!!!

It's a rush tour 5 reefers for 7 hours include dinner but I still got some idea. Their bare bottom tank always have NO3 undetectable, and for PO4, they try very hard to keep it around 0.03, otherwise will be zero. KH around 8~9, I don't remember exactly. Keeping some PO4, reduce organic, trace element, and lights seems keys of their success, but I don't have more detail than these.

Thanks.

I have a bare bottom tank too. I too have undetectable NO3. The colour of my corals were quite pale though until recently. I suspected that this could be due to undetectable phosphate levels. After I turned off my GFO reactor more than a month ago the coral colours improved significantly and surprisingly phosphate levels remained very low (below 0.008 mg/l). I keep chaeto in my sump. I wonder if those who you visited also keep macro algae too?

WOW! My head hurts just from looking at that dosing system :eek1: That's an amazing tank though. I love all those sps and how great their color look. Do you think you've achieved that color based on the dosing or the bulbs? Or both? I've been thinking about going with zeovit but the cost is always keeping me from trying.

What camera are you using for taking pictures? Those are some great shots!
definitely an inspiration for my current nano :D

Thanks. However, I found these 5 reefers who I visited on Friday, they all change from HQI to LED and/or T5. Of course, Taiwan hot weather is one main reason cut the HQI, not really due to HQI is bad.

Thanks.

Only one have macro algae, but only a very small portion, I doubt how much it help. One thing in common they all try to pull NO3 up from undetected a bit, but keep PO4 very very low to undetectable.

My SPS color still has lot of room to improve. Only 30% SPS display here since others are not that great. Some coral has great color on tip or new grow area, but the body still browning. I do believe appropriate lights, plus balance and adequate trace elements (via dosing pump) are keys to keep color and grow.

Only a few pictures took by myself, most better quality pictures are actually took by my friends, they used Canon 5DII or 5DIII, with macro lens.

Your reef is very beautiful and its sump with the dosing system is perfect for the system Zeovit.
As for brown film have you tried using KZ ZeoZym together with ZEObak. Try as. I had great results and still leaves the white sand.
Congratulations on the beautiful reef.
Alexandre George.

Thanks. Still a long way to go....

your aquarium is amazing but the colors dont really look like they are worth the money you are spending.

Well, I have to admin that I am not happy about the color, and that is why I am here. However, the money I spent on aquarium mainly is for safety reason, and it allow me keep my tank stable even I frequently out of town for over 3 weeks.

Thanks, Alexandre. I learnt my KZ directly or indirectly from you and the reason I choose Zeovit, not how easy to success in color, but how easy to get precise feedback when in trouble. ZZ was not very success on me, but I just figure out that I might use it the wrong way. I usually separated Bak and ZZ dosing. In fact, I was on purpose dosing Bak in Zeovit reactor four hours before I dose ZZ+Snow+Biomat, and I might not dose enough. What is your suggestion of ZZ dosing volume? My tank is 120 gallon display tank with high SPS density, sump is about 40 gallon.

I do like my GHL dose system, there are a few reefers in Taiwan use up to 16 heads with Zeovit system. :lmao:

What salt mix are you using or just natural saltwater? I notice most Taiwan reefers use nsw, which I feel may be of inconsistent quality and lead to some issues.

I use KZ salt ONLY and did 6% water change weekly. There are many Taiwan reefers use NSW as you mentioned, and many having problem, but they may NOT aware related to NSW. Some reefers and myself have tried very hard to convince them do NOT use NSW due to quality control, but only a few willing to listen ;-(

Great looking tank.I noticed in your earlier post about the levels you keep that your potassium is somewhere between 380-500.Have you noticed any different effects from keeping it at 500 over the more natural levels of round 380-400.

Sorry, I am not even sure if my K measure correct or not. Potassium is one of the most difficult test I have experienced. I tried Red Sea, fuma marin , and Salifert. Difference between each test kit could be 100. :headwallblue:

Regarding notice any difference when K over 400, not really. Sorry, but I will keep my eye on.

Tank looks great

I'm a bit surprised that you found the Salifert K kit to be difficult. It's been the best I've used so far (KZ & Red Sea being the others)

That is true, Salifert is the best, but sometime it only change from white to very light blue which is a bit hard to tell. Most of time it turn clearly to blue.

WOW~
What a splendid tank!!
It makes me send the first post on RC to you, haha

Is that you, my friend? Then you should aware many pictures here are actually took by you ;-)

You have been registered on RC since 2011 and first post now!!! Wow, my honor to get your first post.:lmao:
