A few of my SPS

Yes, that's what I was worried about! I lost interest so many times, took my tank down, sold everything. Then set it up again a year later for twice the price. :hmm5:

The tank seems to be humming along ok without you. Some losses are expected, and color too. Do you have it set up in a way that water changes are quick and easy to do?
Water changes are a hassle so I haven't been doing them.

Somehow I have missed this photo. What a spectacular looking Cyphastrea decadia. Wow.

Would you mind telling me how much light this coral receives please Greg?

I was going to order a frag from my usual online retailer, but did not in the end because folks who keep it in their tank (under LEDs) cannot retain pink/purple colouration throughout like yours. Their coral is turquoise/green with pink tips.

I missed the last update. Any changes or improvements? The last set of pics looks great IMO, maybe not the perfect TOTM quality you are used too but still fantastic.

I've skimmed through your thread and man what a beautiful system!

About water changes how about using a Peristaltic pump or a diaphragm pump with dual heads for continuous water change?
I do 5 ml per min ~60 g a month.
Randy Holmes uses a Reef filler diaphragm pump with dual head for this.
I use a masterflex peristaltic pump with multiple heads for this
It really stays rock solid and all you have to do is replenish you salt water container once a month or so....

How is everything going greg?
Thanks for checking in Mike, things are pretty much a stalemate these days due to no spare time. What lives, lives and what doesn't, doesn't. That said even with not doing water changes for almost a year some of the corals are still very vibrant in color but the hair algae is getting me down and the foxface I got several months ago to help control it turned out to be a "union" fish and apparently that isn't his job.

Thanks, it is a nice piece and I have been growing it for about 3 plus years so it is a slow one. It is under 250 watt MH lights but actually gets lots of "over-spill" lighting from the LED fixtures (Radions)

Thanks Mark - nothing in the way of improvements except I added a new clam a few weeks ago and I think it digs the heavy nitrate/phosphate load as it seems pretty happy.

Thanks for taking the time to review the thread. My tank has much in common with me - "the older I get the better I was"

I have been considering doing what you are suggesting for a while now but just haven't pulled the trigger. Likely will do it one of these days. Thanks, Greg

Holy time travel --- those are old pictures and unfortunately the only piece in that bunch I still have is the red planet and it is doing pretty well. In fact it's hard to remember when it was as small as in that picture because it is now at least 12 inches across and 15 inches long.
