How do you like the dc pump on the skimmer? Is it quieter then a regular skimmer pump?

Yeah its super quiet. Especially on start up with the soft start.. It's nice that it's adjustable you could probably use this thing in like 4" of water on the higher settings.. I actually use the feed mode when I feed the coral I think it let's it regain it's foam head a little faster.

Quick update..

New goodies.. Vertex omega 150 = awesome skimmer in the 100g range.. Build quality is excellent..

Cleaned last night, no joke

Recent FTS: quality lacking in pics as usual.. Looks better in person obviously.. Daly is on the list for me for the tank and family..

Tank is way to crowded at this point and it's bugging me so time to do some serious thinning of colonies I don't want.. (for real this time =)

But I do have this to put them into for a while once it's up and running..Should be online in the next 2 weeks if all goes as planned..

Pvc hybrid sump.. Probably going to make some adjustments to the baffles.. It's set up to be just a large refugium so I'll probably modify it.. 113g

Hey Daniel - in your experience so far, is that skimmer as touchy as some are proclaiming?

Thanks for the compliments john/Ken. The tank is going OK but it's a constant chase for color lol.. It's enough to drive me crazy =).. I'm seriously considering swapping back to halides for about 6 months without any other change to see if I can get the results I used to have although it's probably all in my head ha ha..

I did just receive a good amount of geiseman's new t5 line to test out and let the vendor know my thoughts, so the halide test will be a while out at this point..

@ Shaun the skimmer has not been touchy at all for me.. It does loose it's foam head after feeding for a little longer than other skimmers I've had but it makes up for it in all other areas.. I Highly recommend this skimmer to anyone in the 90-150g range. It was skimming on say one with 0 micro bubbles from the gate so I'm happy.

Looking great. Somehow missed your last update. That vertex skimmer looks like its performing A+!

Do you run GAC on this tank? If yes, which brand and how much are you using? Thanks.
